  1. Reminds of the time I told one of the kids I "coach" that I was the double cross king, and he said "coach, that's not something to be proud of."
  2. They keep starting Jeffers at DH....evidence they aren't tanking, they haven't picked a lane, and they aren't auditioning guys for next year. Or, they are just bad at that too.....
  3. My fear is that he's mediocre, they keep him for next year because "upside", and he's bad (as he's been here for more than a year, and in Boston now also). At some point, upside is just something never reached (to be clear, I was believer in giving him a chance this year.......but now I'm ready to move on. At some point, you move on in life). I'm at that point. YMMV, of course.
  4. Not to mention the timing........which is truly astounding.
  5. I'd be unhappy.....very unhappy. They can't fix him, we know that.
  6. So, if this FO is in charge, he'll be in MN in 27 or 28..... (ya, I'm done with them and exaggerating).
  7. I truly don't understand the plan here at all. There is zero reason for Jeffers to DH at this point. Seriously. This season is over. They've punted it. Act that way fgs.
  8. Outman is awful, and the only reason he won't be DFA at year end is embarrassment.
  9. Much like we were told we should figure out what the Mets do to keep their pitchers healthy......
  10. I'd move Horn to the bullpen right now, put him in high A, and hope to have him up middle of next year. I think Ohl and Lewis and Morris will move to the BP, if there are no trades. I'd likely move Raya if there are no trades. Adams is nearly a lock, IMO.
  11. I'd prefer Julien DH over Jeffers. We know what we have in Jeffers.....(I'm not overly confident in Julien, but he needs to bat against every RHP, at DH).
  12. I was told his success proved the twins were literally stupid ....
  13. Outman is only competition for..... No one. Worst trade ever, that doesn't include hindsight.
  14. My basis is tiny. So small you'd be shocked. I mean, I have an MBA in finance, so I know what's happening to some degree (the market isn't nearly so efficient as we were taught).....
  15. Well, only 1 player they traded for is getting a shot, and few of the guys from the minors they brought up are young/rookies at all. We can like the idea of starting over(ish) and realizing the core wasn't good enough, and not like the execution of the trades.....I really think people are conflating the two things.....the outman trade was unforgivable, imo.
  16. Agreed on all counts, though I'm not sold on Lee (man, really shocked at how bad he's been at hitting so far).
  17. Well, the FO said this isn't a rebuild.....but neither of us believe that. Also again, I was replying to a post, and that was the context of my reply. Nothing more or less. Let's be clear, though, most sites think the Twins have a lot of good prospects, but not many great ones. Since none of us are scouts, we kind of have to rely on those sites for perspective. Or not,, but that's what I do. Sure, everything could work! The Twins could fix Outman (hahahahaha) and Raj (who hasn't been good in the majors at all) and all of the LH OF that need to be on the 40 man somehow get playing time, and all the pitchers they traded for could reach their ceiling! (I keep seeing posts that say "if they trades work out perfectly, the Twins win the trades"....hawt takes!). But, the TWins haven't fixed any hitters under this FO. (I don't see you doing this, btw). I do think they can build a bullpen over two years from this group. I have no idea if they have enough SP though, especially if this is a rebuild and they deal Ryan/Lopez. I have no confidence this FO can identify and develop hitters and defenders,. Of course it is difficult to predict prospects.......which is one reason I found it odd the Twins took most of the risk in these deals. I love they went for ceiling, though......so who knows?
  18. Adding this many LH OF that need to be on the 40 man was definitely confusing. But, Outman will be DFA, so that won't take a spot. I'd consider moving Mendez to 1B right now, given what we've read, and what else this team has in the minors. I'm guessing Larnach is dealt in the off season.
  19. You're arguing against something I didn't say. I replied that the farm system isn't considered top three. Agree? I posted that it is rated highly because of depth, I mean it's literally what fangraphs said in their review. They have a lot of prospects that night work. So I'm not sure your point?
