    Ryan isn't signing for less than 5 years right now....you want to pay a pitcher in his mid 30s 30 million a year? And, the GM can likely work on more than 1 thing at a time.....

    Sure, but the playoffs are harder now....you have another round. I do agree, they have 2 good to very good starters....but they don't have enough else, imo.

    nah, that wasn't the best article. I'll look again.... but, basically, control is the ability to throw strikes in the zone. Command is the ability to throw a pitch WHERE you want to throw it.

    What do you think the hit rate is? There are 5-8 MLB players there, plus a guy that was injured.....though I agree, there could be more decisiveness by this organization.

    Fair. If I'm dealing for player, he has to have 3+ years of control, though. It's why I don't hate the SS deal....not sure I do it, but it isn't an awful idea.

    Sure, but this is clearly not one of the best run teams......or they wouldn't have rightsized after winning the playoff series, and then cut payroll again and again (by a lot). I too would prefer they buy, but when the time is right, and, IMO, this year is not that year. Next year could be....if they invest in the team in the off season. I'm not holding my breath on that with this ownership group, but the new CBA could change everything.

    All fair. It's the other two trades I really didn't like Why are people trading for a first baseman? Lewis is league average there since moving over.

    It's interesting he's played no corner OF, given Buxton isn't going anywhere soon. You may have hit on a clue.

    Not sure what they'd even have to sell, other than Lewis and Lopez? Everyone else is meh, youngish, or Buxton. But I'm sympathetic to not dealing Ryan if they aren't blown away, and won't crity them for keeping him through this year. After the year? Depends on if they invest in the team.

    It depletes the depth, for what? They have no realistic chance this year. Could it happen? Sure. Should they bet it will happen? No imo. Why are the Orioles making this trade? They have the same record as Minnesota.

    He's trading for 1.5 years of a starting pitcher and first baseman when this team is not so that good. That's short sighted and bad strategy. There was nothing personal in that post, it was clearly about the content, not the person. Look, this team isn't close to great. It should be building for 28 and beyond, not this year or likely next year. Not if the goal is championships. Are we sure Henderson will be better than the internal options when the current prospects are in their prime? This post completely gives up on the future, for the next 1.5 years. I didn't see anyway that's a good idea.

    Who said trade ALL veterans? Anyone? Heck, some here are saying trade Lee and Lewis....part of the present and future. As far as dealing Jeffers Ryan, this team is NOT a playoff winning team. Build for '28 and beyond is the only realistic way to win a championship.
