  1. I do respect Molly a little for pulling Hughes there. The old school thing to do would be to leave him in for the third out to qualify for the Win
  2. No, I'm talking real time. It's almost two hours already and we're only starting the bottom of the fifth!
  3. If you are talking about staying up for the end of the game.... just set your alarm early tomorrow morning to wake up and catch the end of it
  4. Hughes works slower than Pelfrey nowadays, and that's saying something.
  5. Note to Twins outfielders: Watch the ball into your glove every play, not just the hard plays.
  6. Though I was opposed to the Ervin Santana signing and wasn't thrilled with his suspension, at this point I would like to see him stick around. It seems like I saw Berrios and Santana sitting in the dugout together a lot. Perhaps discussing pitching or just making it in MLB, though it's hard to know for sure. Isn't this the sort of mentorship or veteran leadership the Twins claim to value so much? So, I would keep Santana, and also Dozier. Dozier is struggling but my gut says keep him. All the other so called veterans can be released for a song and the team would be immediately improved, regardless of return. Like others say, we might need to throw in a prospect.
  7. I don't know who the best manager for this team is anymore. But, I would be interested in seeing how a black or Hispanic coach might write out the Twins line up card, without any subtle pressures from the front office or fear of repercussions from displeasing any of the players.
  8. In the vein of keeping this solely about the Twins, I think it would be a good opportunity to replace Brunansky. He seems unable to connect with the players or say anything insightful to the media about what is going on.
  9. These Twins games are coming full circle and becoming must-see appointment television again (albeit for the wrong reasons). Five or six game win streaks are more fun, and they always begin with the first win. Come on, boys, get mad today!
  10. Good job on the set up--your restraint was actually amazing!
  11. thank goodness we could DL Mastroianni and not have to risk losing him on waivers
  12. I understand your thinking, but sending Sano to AAA is the wrong answer in my book. I would say Sano is extremely driven but is in a hopeless situation. Out of the blue, he was told in the offseason he would be playing a different position. Why should Sano give up a chunk of his offseason to learn outfield when in the past, guys were just sent to the outfield after shagging some fly balls? (Bartlett, Escobar, Collabello, etc etc) Also, Bruno does not seem to be a good communicator with the Spanish speaking guys. Hasty demotions of young guys like Berrios and Polanco. Then there are the players of the most seniority getting the most preferential treatment (that's how I see it, anyway). Anyway, it's just a bad atmosphere and to imply that Sano is somehow to blame by demoting him would be a huge, huge mistake.
  13. Maybe they will chose someone who is still in Rochester at that time. I am guessing Polanco or Berrios. Would the All Star game count towards their service time?
  14. I will pile on, but I also mean this as an honest question. What difference does it make that Burnett throws left-handed? LHB are 0-18 against Abad, with 1:5 BB:K LHB are 0-6 against O'Rourke, with 2:2 BB:K
