Went back a few seasons to see if teams playing .600 ball on Memorial Day go on to make the postseason. Most do! The worst example of not making it goes to.. the 2012 Dodgers, who were 32-16 after Memorial Day, 6.5 games ahead of the Giants. But in the end, the Giants dusted ‘em and won the division by 8.0 games, and also the World Series. The Giants swept the Dodgers in a series in late June to pull even, the two teams bobbed and weaved for the division lead for a couple months, then the Giants started to slowly pull away late in August, early September. Dodgers still won 86 games that year but missed the wild card. But that is generally the exception.
