    When Cruz comes back I think they will do the old “pitch & ditch” with Littell, if Littell pitches a couple innings they’ll send him down right after (trying to think of a catchy name for it) unless they really need a fresh arm, and they call up a pitcher, if Cruz isn’t ready. Garver still sounds like 4-5 days minimum, at least.

    I doubt it. We’re seeing slightly different patterns of usage (such as built-in rest days for lineup regulars) that make me think there’s nothing here to see, or they just see a better string of game matchups ahead for Perez if he slides back in the rotation a few days.

    Looks like his awful streak didn’t last as long as I remember it lasting. Thanks for the correction. His whip in Aug-Sept was pretty ordinary but he did prevent runs from scoring.

    In 2017 Rogers was lights-out until about the All Star break, then couldn’t get anybody out. I’m not concerned about Rogers per se, but that other guys start getting high leverage appearances too (assuming the offense comes back to earth).
