    If they parted ways with Cron, they would then need a first baseman too. I think it’s more than fair to bring back Cron while also giving Sano some time at first and ease in a young guy later in the season if warranted (Rooker or Kirilloff)

    I don’t know what happened to Cron’s defense the second half. Maybe his thumb injury lingered. It took Mauer a couple of seasons to really become a great fielder at first base—great post brvama. MarGo played well at first. Cruz comes back as DH for another season but beyond that, who knows. Maybe that’s where Sano is eventually ticketed, but no one else in the org is ready to step in to 3B day to day like Sano, and I’d focus free agency on pitching All which is to say I’d leave Sano at third another season, and then reevaluate.

    With Maddon now in LA, with the rumors that Gerrit Cole wants to sign there, and some inevitable housecleaning that will happen following the Skaggs tragedy, the Angels might come out in 2020 and surprise. If they can stay healthy look out.

    Glad to see that Levine quote. Probably should not have traded Pressly, but reflecting back on past actions is a good habit to be in.

    I’m still not sure why the Twins didn’t trade for a starter at the deadline, as the Astros have done. Even if it meant offering Larnach or Kirilloff. Maybe something will change this offseason?
