  1. Perhaps you would like their newest brand offering, Coke Infinity Delicious?
  2. I always thought it was abandoning the cursive writing that brought it down, huh http://cdn.history.com/sites/2/2015/05/hungry-new-coke-AP_260821232821.jpg-E.jpeg
  3. For some reason (probably because it's funny? not sure) this reminded me of the scene in Naked Gun when Leslie Nielsen slides across the table with Queen Elizabeth, so I was going to post a jpeg of that photo....... but then I made the naive mistake of googling: "Naked gun queen elizabeth" uh oh http://basementrejects.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/naked-gun-from-the-files-of-police-squad-frank-drebin-tackles-queen-elizabeth-leslie-nielsen-jeannette-charles-review.jpg
  4. I really like how the Texas GM discusses it. Here is the link http://m.mlb.com/news/article/177892318/rangers-promote-no1-draft-pick-matt-bush Bottom line: they think he is a good pitcher and can help the team.
  5. Right. If one listens, they can pick up on things. Mike Radcliffe made some comments (can't remember which podcast) that gave the impression he felt moving Sano to right field was terrible judgment. Ryan was asked to justify giving Nolasco the rotation spot instead of Duffey, and Ryan said there was a big debate, there was a 5-5 split, but ultimately the decision was up to him. Those are two recent examples I can think of. There was the Pelfrey-May thing last year. But I can't get behind Antony. Spring training 2014 was a debacle and the media gave the impression Antony was in charge. Antony seemed too eager about the David Murphy signing and the "veteran presence" he would add. (And Berrios would still be in the minors). I don't want this thing blown up (yet), I just want them to start making good decisions.
  6. I had to google the Monty Python Ralph the wonder llama reference. Which is unfortunate because I was a Monty Python groupie-wannabe back in the day. Shows what I know... I have no idea what that creature is. I only posted that photo because I want one.
  7. I don't know how he hits baseballs so far. He also has a camaraderie with his teammates, which is really fun to see. One concern would be if Park can handle being pitched inside. Maybe KBO pitchers don't pitch inside--don't know. Maybe heat maps show there is no concern. Park swung a Sale slider that hit him in the knee (don't worry, you're not the first!) but the umps gave him a break. Another time, a high inside fastball came, and to get out of the way he didn't know if he should spin away from it or lean back, limbo style. He did a little of both and it wasn't pretty. But, Park seems to be otherwise adjusting to MLB pitching just fine and as jimbo said, plays a great first base and knows the position intuitively. I'm a huge Park fan!
  8. In case nobody knows what you are talking about....... http://s2.favim.com/610/150904/art-beautiful-funny-horse-Favim.com-3237983.jpg
  9. You hate to get your starting pitchers all warmed up, and then have them only pitch 6 innings before the rain comes. (oh wait, that's how Phil Hughes got his only victory this year)
  10. People know it didn't actually rain in downtown Minneapolis tonight, right?
  11. The good news about this rainout is that everyone who came down to Target Field won't have to run back to their cars or drive back home in the rain.
  12. Is this one of those rain delays where it's not actually raining and not going to rain until about 9:30 but they will wait it out for a couple hours then get tired of waiting it out because it's not actually raining so they start the game at 9:30 since it's not raining...and then it rains in the third inning? Is this one of those?
  13. In my opinion it is the veterans who are underperforming. I don't know what makes Molitor tick. A couple times last week he batted Murphy 8th, and Eduardo Nunez 9th. Nunez has been our best, most consistent hitter. He was hitting last. Nunez's batting average was literally .300 points higher than Murphy's average yet Murphy was hitting above him. I am perfectly willing to watch the prospects make a few mistakes and learn the game. These guys are in their early 20s. Dumb base running mistakes is part of the process, as long as the coaching is sound and the players learn from it. The game is faster in MLB. Sano is not letting me down. He hit a pop up almost to the center field warning track in the 8th today. A couple millimeters down the bat barrel and it's a long home run and tie game. As you said, he is making good contact, and those will even out.
  14. Maybe he didn't do anything with the chances he got, but I disagree he got every chance and then some. The Twins tried to make him into a corner outfielder at one point. Because of his big bat I am assuming. He didn't even catch in 2014 (one MLB inning the entire season). Even in Rochester in 2014 he played more outfield than catcher. Now if they had ever traded him at any point during that stretch, they probably would have gotten no more than Palka anyway. But just to play the hindsight card, it would be nice to have some good catching here right now, instead of another strikeout prone outfield prospect in the minors. So far, Herrmann is playing in Arizona twice as much as he played here, give or take.
  15. I wouldn't know. I will take your word for it. Small sample of course. Maybe he just needed a change of scene.
  16. Speaking of Herrmann. He hit a game winning home run today. Now I wonder if he got a fair look here. He seems to be doing well with more regular playing time.
  17. The owner calls his own franchise a "total system failure." When was the last time a team with total system failure made a deep postseason run?
  18. The Twins would never shop Mauer, and Mauer is a 10/5 guy who can refuse a trade. Mauer has been really good this year, both at the plate and in the field. Otherwise yes. Time to sell.
  19. You make a really good point about the prospects who have won championships in the minors. I don't think guys like that care about having veterans around or feel a veteran will teach them to win. I disagree with some of your conclusions on personnel (like Pressly) but agree that fixing this shouldn't be that complicated. Just play the best guys and play them in their positions. Unfortunately the Twins are needlessly making this look complicated.
  20. You are vastly overstating Meyer's struggles and ignoring times he has been very good.
  21. This only shows me that Meyer handles a demotion more maturely than a Pelfrey or Nolasco. May and Milone have handled demotions well, too. Is it time to think about a demotion for Hughes?
