  1. I dropped a post here on players playing through mild sprained ankles: http://twinsdaily.com/topic/35124-playing-on-a-mild-ankle-sprain/ To sum it up in a word, I’m optimistic we see Arraez this weekend. I’d also hate to be the one to get everyone’s hopes up, and then find out his ankle is not as ready as what we think. But I did the work and wanted to share it either way.
  2. You could even go one further, and say the center fielder had the best look at it, and should have called it for the infielders. But who was in center? Did he have the pipes to be heard?
  3. I’d rather have Arraez and hope he heals up quickly, but Schoop has power and probably provides better defense.
  4. I’m still not sold Rogers will be that guy, but you could certainly be right. It will be interesting to watch if the Twins ever call for the Rogers back foot slider to the righty for three, four pitches in a row. Especially after the batter has laid off it, to call for it one more time. I don’t know who those batters would be but this is definitely going to be fun!
  5. Good point. Then you wonder if Rogers will be used to get the final outs, as he usually is.
  6. I agree, there was probably a gut check in the clubhouse of some sort. I posted that I felt Sano always hustles; that wasn’t meant as a rebuttal to your observation. It’s good to see hustle at this point from everyone.
  7. The radio guys said Wade had a great secondary lead, and broke for third instantly. Great hustle, great play. What more could you ask for.
  8. At least you won’t be forcibly removed from a bar anymore, for requesting to put the Twins game on.
  9. I was wrong. But you were not quite correct. (kidding). If the arbitration panel had reduced Pineda's suspension in time for Pineda to serve the reduced suspension before the season ended, then Pineda would have been eligible for the postseason through an exception per Joint Drug Agreement 7.H.2. at the very end of that paragraph. Here was the post I was thinking of. http://twinsdaily.com/topic/34800-front-page-michael-pineda-suspended-60-games-for-banned-substance/?p=911565 If Pineda had dropped his appeal, he would not have qualified for that exception, even if he had completed serving the suspension before the season ended.
  10. I assumed that too, when the news came out, but someone in an earlier thread corrected that to say they are eligible. Guess I'm not sure then.
  11. I'm wondering if Pineda had just dropped his appeal, served his suspension, if he wouldn't be back on the field already and ready to prove himself in the playoffs and be ready to go spring training with a respectable MLB contract. All those years on the Yankees, and he never made a post-season roster. Hard pass for 2020.
  12. Great call to bring up Graterol. Posters here were too quick to dismiss him after his previous outing. I’d like to see either Garver or Cruz at DH until this is clinched. I hope Cruz’s wrist is in decent enough shape. Marwin took BP this week so I’m counting on him being close. Backing up Berrios by a day also puts him better in line for a Game 1 ALDS start Thursday. Now close it out, fellas!
  13. Agree—they are effectively eliminated, unless they go on a Rockies ‘07 win streak starting with their next game.
  14. I don’t think the Phillies are mathematically eliminated, but they are pretty close to needing to “win out” at this point. A great week for the Twins. I’d like to see the regulars playing as much as possible this week.
  15. With Buxton entering in the top of the 9th, that bottom of the 9th was the first half-inning since August 1st that Rosario, Buxton and Kepler have been in the outfield together
  16. Yesterday was the first time since August 11 that the Twins have lost a game on the same day Cleveland won. Despite the hiccup last night, the Twins are still taking care of business.
  17. I’m just glad they are taking advantage of the expanded rosters. Seems like in previous years they only called up a couple of guys.
  18. I combined “Treated by Indianapolis Colts trainers, 10-1” into a parlay, with “Buxton announces retirement right before American League Division Series, 2500-1”. Wish me luck! (haha). I will think fondly of you all in my retirement!
  19. That was a great play in the third. Sano batting, steps out of the box and tries to call time out, time out not granted, pitch comes, Sano steps back in and laces it to the shortstop who boots it, Sano winds up on second base with an RBI.
