    Can anyone name a team that developed enough pitching to fill the rotation AND the bullpen with homegrown pre-arbitration players. It’s a nearly impossible task.

    I would suggest platooning Lewis with Gray except Lewis has been terrible against LHP. He has a 720 OPS vs RHP and 420 vs LHP.

    Almost every contender will be calling about Ryan Jeffers at the deadline. Teams carry two catchers and it is very easy to add Jeffers to the roster. The Twins would be foolish to keep him, even if they want to bring him back as a free agent.

    I think they aren’t a contender, which is where this gets tricky. I see no benefit to giving Outman playing time. I think Wallner needs to play less often. I think Rodriguez needs to come up, if only to fail and go back to AAA to work on his game. I think they need to move a DH off the roster and add a first baseman. I think Culpepper is challenged in AAA (725 OPS) so it is best to keep him there..

    Buxton is destroying starting pitchers the third time he sees them. Move him to cleanup and he might not see the starter a 3rd time.

    They're on pace for 22-28 by game 50. 10 games under is a little pessimistic.

    Sean Murphy was a very good defensive catcher, unlike Jeffers. His hitting collapsed at age 29 and he's out this season to date with a hip injury. He's more of a cautionary example when it comes to extending catchers into their 30s. If the Twins want to acquire Sean Murphy, it would take very little to get him from the Braves. They are pretty happy with Drake Baldwin as the starter.

    Lee's switch hitting could allow him to play every day while platooning with other players throughout the infield.

    32 games played, 20% of the season. Multiply stats by 5. Twins are playing at a 70 win pace. Buxton is on a 40 HR pace.

    If the outfield is Martin, Buxton and Rodriguez then you don’t need Outman. It makes more sense to add Kreidler for the pinch runner and defense replacement role.

    Wallner last 14 days: 384 OPS Bell last 14 days: 475 OPS They certainly don’t need two DH who can’t hit.

    I would be shocked if they cut Wallner. They can’t even move on from Outman and he’s been terrible for three consecutive seasons. They won’t let go of Wallner until he hits arbitration. They might use his option, but that just means he will make the MLB opening day roster next season because they will be too averse to losing him for nothing.
