  1. thus "outmanaged". That non- challenge was awful in my opinion. What are you saving it for? an extra out? maybe save a run? this was an out AND a run.
  2. Manager should have challenged regardless. it's the bottom of the 6th. Huge swing there. If anything, just to support your player who was clearly mad. Has to at least go argue to the ump.
  3. I must not be explaining well. I'm not saying we should leave off May. Just that bringing May, Duffey, Harper, Littel, Graterol/Alcala/Romero would be a bit duplicative. May and Perez are both locks in my mind, with the caveat being that it's possible but still doubtful that the club would go with Smeltzer or Thorpe over the more proven but inconsistent Perez. Even more to the point, if you wanted to leave Perez off, we'd have even more room for Hamilton.
  4. Odor would have ran away from 2nd to meet Cave halfway as the throw sailed into the outfield.
  5. When Sano stays inside the baseball... wow.
  6. not necessarily. but, he's left handed. we have 100 rt hand arms. 2: length. need someone to eat innings if there's a blow out.
  7. I'd love to have a speed guy and Hamilton might be one of the fastest. Guys don't need days off in the playoffs. I love Tortuga, but Adrianza has hit better and we don't need a 3rd catcher. I actually like Cave's bat. I think he's closer to last year's version than this year's. But he's not starting a playoff game. he's not a late inning replacement. Hamilton is more valuable. Perez will be our lefty and longman, but the trend is for all starters to rotate through in the pen in playoffs, especially late in series and world series. We may not need May, Duffy, Harper, Littel and Graterol/Duran. I'd love Hilde or Orourke to find some form. But bottom line, I think we can find room.
  8. Anyway, my point is that power is easier to add than contact. If you have great hand-eye coordination, it transfers well to hitting the ball hard and far. HR and double right on cue. Stance and swing is very reminiscent of Eduardo Escobar.
  9. Really nice crop of rookie position players. Still think Arraez will need more pull power to keep teams honest. but dude's a magician with the bat. power is a natural add to the skill set. count me as hopeful. I believe Law had him away 19 or 20 preseason, highest of any lousy I saw.
  10. Welcome. the correct format for a game thread question is as follows: "is it too late to sign anyone to the bullpen or can we still find help?" Yes. you're new, so we'll let it slide.
  11. How we gonna start a series in Milwaukee with no lefty to bring in and get yelich?
  12. The front office was actually really honest initially when they stated their single goal was to create a sustainable competitive baseball team. Not a champion. Fans come out for pennant races whether you're 3 down or 13 up. Reminds me of the "get to know em, gotta see em" days of trying to win "the twins way". Basically it's better to be cheap and competitive than the Yankees. They called themselves small market enough times that we all believed it. The goal is to win the amount of games necessary to generate fan interest. The end result of the season doesn't really matter much.
  13. Who comes in to face Yelich in a big spot? Smeltzer, Perez and Rogers are our only lefties and 2 are starting.
  14. Free Duran! He has to be added next year. Graterol doesn't and he'll need to be on an innings limit next season. I'm not sure I'd call on him. Don't forget Trevor Hildenberger. If healthy his change up is super legit. Andrew Vasquez could refind his form as well. To me, they'd be the best options, but certainly not options you can bank on.
  15. And making bold moves to improve and reenergize their team had a lot to do with continuing the torrid pace finalizing the come back. I hope Buck and Cruz can have a similar impact for us...
  16. kinda like our game yesterday... geez... 2nd place. sweet.
  17. If Hand slumps this could be huge... like if Rogers slumps...
  18. Bosox! kinda like our game yesterday...
  19. Watching the Indians win is as frustrating as watching the Twins lose... Same play as last night except 2 outs and they still held their guy.
  20. Well we have to do something. Smeltzer and Thorpe aren't that good either. Graterol might not get to 100 innings this season. Duran and Alcala are probably relievers. We could have the same line up back. makes it even worse that we stood pat at the trade deadline instead of aggressively adding pitching.
  21. Indians about to grab first place alone...
