    This^^^ There were a ton of times balls were hit to left center an both Rosario and Buxton were there in time to make the catch and the vast majority of the time Rosario deferred to Buxton. I'm sure this didn't help his defensive numbers.

    They made the right decision. Her story and actions were too suspect to merit much, if any punishment. IMO, of course.

    The terms of drug testing are agreed to in the CBA. MLB can't just arbitrarily start drug testing players every week. And from what I've read, there are only about 5 labs in the world that can do the sophisticated testing to find all the new variants of PED's.

    Just wanted to add an update to my post with the pitch speeds the other day. While watching the Pirates broadcast for the game today they mentioned something to the effect that the speeds getting put up on the broadcast were 3 mph slower than what was showing at the ballpark. Take it for what you will, but I wanted to get that out there.

    So what if it's legal in the DR? Is he playing in the DR? He's 24, not 16. the players know it's not legal in the US and not allowed by their employer. It's up to them if they want to risk it, but shouldn't bitch ( or make up BS excuses) when they get caught.

    So what if steroids are legal in the DR. They aren't legal here, and they aren't allowed by his employer. He knew that and so do all of the other players. How would you have MLB address this better?

    That is what the Pirate broadcast was showing. They didn't show the speed of every pitch and I don't know if their gun is considered "slow" or "fast". I guess i could go back and watch it and log every pitch if you want.

    Just finished watching Hughes in the game today. Was throwing his slow curve (76-77) early in count to get ahead, but struggled to put away hitters. did strike out the side in 2nd but all of the guys he struck out got hits the 2nd time they hit against him. Fastball was 86-88 most of the time. His fielders didn't help him either. The 2 home runs weren't cheapies and seemed to get a little rattled after the 2nd one. Left with the bases loaded and Busenitz let them all score. An ugly game in the field for the Twins, 4 errors. I started this thread and even though I think Phil is a good guy, he just doesn't have the stuff to be effective anymore, IMO.

    I wonder if this seasons free agent market, or lack thereof, could motivate Sano. He'll make a lot less when we hits the market if he's just a DH, compared to if he's still playing a passable 3B.

    sometimes the best investment decision is to sell at a loss and move on. trying to recoup what you might consider full value can be a fools game.
