    Buxton will probably develop slowly, we waste a bunch of team controlled years, he'll get good for about 2 years and then he leaves. It's the Twins way.

    Along with another 2 hits today, he made a nice bare hand pick and threw out a speedy runner while playing third base. He's looking good, hopefully it carries over to the regular season.

    He still can't recognize/hit a major league breaking pitch. Until that changes, that's all he's going to see. I say his OPS will be under .700 for most of the season. Hope I'm wrong.

    What would be the point of replacing him with a free agent that gives you equal value that would cost more? And the question should is he one of the best 5 starters on the team, period. IMO, there is a very good chance that he's better than Nolasco or even Hughes. If that's the case he should start, but contracts and egos will never let that happen.

    The whole premise of this thread is dumb. Neither player has played a single game for their new team, and won't for several months. How can something get worse, when nothing has happened yet?

    How do you know Duffey, Achter, O'Rourke and Rogers can be successful? They haven't even been given a chance yet.

    to put it bluntly, yes. that's a 90 win pace. I think they can win 90 games next year.

    They will have E Santana and Sano for the first half that didn't this year. Buxton will also probably be there for the first half. It be Hughes alternating "good" year. ( just kidding on that one). Players like Schafer and Robinson will have been replaced by players like Rosario and Hicks. Berrios has a good chance to make the rotation. Lots of reasons to think the team will be better next year.

    So you really don't think Buxton and Sano are going to be that good in 2017? If Tulo is our best player in 2017, we aren't winning a championship.

    This whole argument comes down to if you think this year is going to be the best chance for the Twins to make the playoffs/win a championship in the next 4-5 years. I don't, so I don't want to make a trade like this.
