  1. Who exactly is doing that? I must have missed it.
  2. The pitching will determine our wild card fate. If Santana and Berrios can pitch well down the stretch and maybe someone in the back half of the rotation can be decent we should be in good shape.
  3. Lost in all the home runs was Hildenbergers double play ball after relieving Santana. Huge moment in the game.
  4. Well, It's the CF'ers job to be traffic cop out there and I didn't see Buxton calling anyone off.
  5. Dozier tried to pull an outside pitch. Result, a ground ball to third.
  6. That fly ball is a perfect example of why Rosario's defensive numbers don't look good this year. Both could have caught it but Buxton did so Rosario gets dinged for that.
  7. That's what really good players do. If they aren't hitting they contribute defensively.
  8. Sano might not ever see a fast ball again.
  9. This is a growing concern. Pitchers are learning not to throw him fastballs. If he can't adjust he could have a serious regression. The K's are piling up.
  10. I don't mean to derail discussion about the premise of the post, but shouldn't the question be "Can the Twins win with the so called core 4"? Dozier and Mauer of the last few seasons (Brian's career year last year not withstanding) are not players you build a championship team around. They are just along for the ride next year ( and possibly beyond). There are plenty of questions surrounding those 4 core players that need to be answered, the biggest of which is Buxton going to be a superstar or just a nice player. The next biggest is Berrios an Ace/strong#2, or a #3 pitcher. the answers to those 2 things will go a long ways towards determining if the Twins can really become a championship caliber team.
  11. Is there a chart for Berrios? Just want to see if he got any calls also....
  12. Because there was no point in keeping him after the last week.
  13. You aren't going to get good controllable pitching for those guys. If you could it would have been done already.
  14. I DON'T get what anyone sees in Colon. He's sucked all of year and he's 44 freaking years old, yet some on here expect some kind of Jesus like resurrection from him. He's done, he can barely make it through 5 innings on a good day, taxing our already overworked bullpen. The decision to keep him for even 1 more start is horse manure.
  15. The Colon experiment should end tonight.
  16. This Colon "experiment' needs to end, and soon. It's insulting to real fans.
  17. I said this in the game thread and I'll say it here. Yes the error hurt, but Berrios was terrible. He was going 2-0, 3-0 on almost every hitter. A lot of his pitches weren't even close.
