    Love that interview. just that small glimpse makes me think he is very cerebral. His profile seems similar to Lomavita whom the Twins were connected to at pick 33. Diaw might not have Lomavita's power upside but appears to be a better contact hitter and out OPS'd Lomavita this year so I can see why the Twins were interested. Diaw has also been hurt a fair bit so seems maybe a little under the radar with possibly more upside than a normal pick. Nice article I really like Diaw and hope he is the next great catcher for the Twins.

    I'm not sure on Jenkins. He hasn't been dominant at A ball for an extended amount of time. I still think they are monitoring that early season injury and they have better facilities at Fort Myers. They could move him up, but I think they play it safe. We'll see what they decide to do. I can't see Gonzo getting a promotion to AA when he hasn't been that good at High A. He would need to be really, really good the rest of the way to earn that one IMO. Sure Rodriguez could get promoted, it just depends on how the FO see's his being needed at the MLB level. He's only 21 so no hurry unless they think they need him as insurance for Wallner Larnach, Kepler.

    Yeah that's a good one. Once the drafted players start playing he should get moved to A ball. Really nice FCL season for him and they need to give him a taste of A ball this year.

    Carr is a very intriguing prospect. He could be a very good all around third baseman. I think I like him better than Amick especially at pick 10. Pro ball is tough, but given his struggles he should be ready for it.

    I think you are right. Maybe Keaschall and Rodriguez late in the year to AAA, but they are just as likely to have them finish out in AA and start in AAA next year since they are both only 21. No reason to push them hard unless they think they can help the MLB club down the stretch. If the Twins move Festa or Varland to the pen for the stretch run maybe Morris gets a call to AAA? Olivar is ready for AA but will they move him? Seems doubtful at this point, but they could. Other than that I don't see much for movement either except for the recently drafted players and maybe Prielipp if he dominates High A.

    Not necessarily, but most likely yes. I will say his line at least so far is superior to what others they have moved around like this have put up with maybe the exception of Shuffield who did well there in his first stint. So much to like about Eeles, speed, plate discipline, hit tool. I do hope they just keep him at AAA. I think given his style of play he can make it there. The only issue is all we have are SSS of what he can do at each level. Can he sustain it? I think given his approach he can, but we'll have to wait and see.

    Yeah that makes sense it could be proactive for Castillo as well.

    Yeah but they do this all the time Hougton was just up and Shuffield has been up and down levels so was Ernie Yake who they let go recently.

    I think he looks fine at AAA as well but why go and pay for Bannon if they plan to keep Eeles there? Also I thought the reason Bannon wanted to move was because he felt blocked on the Mets. I don't see things being much better with the Twins. Just don't understand that move yet. Also since Eeles left Cedar Rapids their offense has tanked. So I am just thinking they will move him back down, but I guess we will see.

    It might be the Zebby affect? It seems like some, not all of these bigger guys hold up a little better. I also think the longer levers, arms and legs give them a better chance of upping velocity. Just my opinion though.

    He really makes it easy for Rocco to mix and match players throughout the game since he can play so many positions well. I have really enjoyed watching the bat develop as well. He has the tools and if he keeps working hard he will be back in another All Star game.

    With the Bannon Signing gotta believe they will send Eeles back down to High A where they desperately need his bat right now.

    One step closer to helping the MLB club. With Zebby not slowing down at AA it makes a ton of sense to move him to AAA. He doesn't have control issue's and his stuff didn't back up at AA. There isn't anything he needs to work on at AA that he can't or won't be at AAA.

    If this is the right Michael Carpenter he had some pretty amazing stats in 2024. Granted this is JC ball, but the numbers are impressive. 2024 - Named Region 4 Player of the Year and First Team All-Region 4... led NJCAA Division II with 1.03 ERA... broke school record for strikeouts in a season with 111... threw 45 consecutive scoreless innings from March 24 to May 10.

    Yeah I just saw Mariners are paying 3M for Sloan so maybe it is gonna cost more than I thought for Hill. Although Hill didn't have the Buzz some of the the other HS pitchers had. Hopefully they can keep it close to 2M or 2.5M as you suggested. That means they still need to come up with 1M or more to sign him.

    I was wondering the same thing. How much money do they need for Hill? They went with players way down on boards early and even two SR signs. If they are saving for one more HS player I suspect we know fairly early on day 3. Otherwise they aren't saving as much as I think they are I guess.

    8 hitters, 4 pitchers. I have to believe they will balance the draft out with more arms on the 3rd day. The bats they have chosen so far are interesting. They have placed lot's of bets on under the radar guys. I hope those work out. The tough part about college bats is you really don't know much about them until AA. A ball is like extended college ball and High A is another level but one most good bats move on from. AA separates who has a chance to make it and who doesn't. So it will be a while before we know much. Really hoping they have a good secret stash of arms they can grab on day 3.

    Not the draft I was expecting as it was supposedly a weak one for bats after the first ten picks and then again after the second round. So seeing the Twins go with 7 bats in the first six rounds was surprising. I did like most of the picks as they all seem to have pretty good bat to ball skills and some with power and they chose guys with position flexibility for the most part. Lots of interesting Catcher combo's as they must be somewhat worried about a Jefffer's successor? While the current farm isn't particularly deep in good hitting position prospects there are top 100 guys at pretty much every level and the big League team appears pretty stocked except outfield. I guess I didn't see a huge need for this many bats especially likely fast moving college bats, but the Twins felt otherwise. The system is also in need of more pitching depth especially at the lower levels and pretty much every level for pen arms. I was kind of hoping they would do what Cleveland did this year and go primarily after pitching on day 2. There is still time for day 3 arms where they tend to find gems, but I think larger numbers would give them more chances to hit on more arms. Only 4 arms in the first 12 picks was not what I was hoping for so hopefully they have some interesting arms lined up for day three. They are going to need a lot of them just to balance out this draft. Not sure what to think about this draft so far. There are a lot of potential really good contact bats with one hopefully elite HS Lefty Pitcher. Hopefully they find the arms they need tomorrow.

    All I can say is they are finding some interesting bats. Lot's of player development needed, but most all these guys have solid hit tools to start. Wondering what the plan for arms is.

    Really hoping they go arms soon. I like the bats they are getting but they lost out on some higher end arms in those rounds. I guess they really trust they can find arms late.

    Looks like the Twins went off board in the 4th round. I wonder if they are still trying to come up with money for Hill? Or they just know something others don't? Sounds like power over hit outfielder\catcher. Doubling down on that demo this time with elite power.

    He sounds very athletic back there kind of like a Lomovita type guy with less power. At least he has a plus arm to work with. I know he is ranked in to 200's on most boards but those ranking will mean less and less the further we get into the draft. I thought for sure the draft would move arm heavy but lot's of bats still coming off. Might also be a money saving move for Hill.

    Looking further he isn't that experienced at catcher. Might have to slow my role there. i still like it because he is versatile and good contact skills.
