    this team lost 96 games with Dozier as the primary 2b. As good as he is, if you can improve to a greater extent in the future by trading him or another player, do it. Can you get significantly worse?

    Agreed w/ drjim, it's too early to tell how good of a contract that is, and this team is still very thin at SP. I don't think any of Johnson, Pino, Darnell, will be as good as Nolasco at any point in their careers. And then there's flushing a valuable prospect for salary relief when cash flow is not a problem.

    I hadn't heard it was Mauer's decision to move to first. At the time it was said that the team asked Mauer to move for health concerns.

    That was the point for Perkins in the deal. He wanted to stay, he wanted security, he couldn't get no trade clause, but got something almost as good.

    Sign Suzuki if you can swing a reasonable two year deal. I don't think Pinto is viewed by the team as a catcher. I think Pinto is primary DH in 2015 with Arcia getting games there occaisionally. Which means don't resign Morales or Willingham. Wait to extend Dozier. He's great, but I don't think you avoid much cost signing him now.

    Interesting scenario, i have my doubts. His contract is high, no certainty of catching, he's the hometown hero. i would be ok with the move, but not sure the average fan at TF would be.

    Both Sano and Buxton will be up, but one or both will probably be mid or late season call up.

    Because baseball and it's 81 home games from April to October every year is a boon for municipal taxes such as alcoholic beverage and sales taxes that it drives. Medtronic and Honeywell mean far more to the inhabitants of Minneapolis than the Twins and Vikings combined. Sure we all love our sports, and we all pay big money to watch and follow, but I choose my income over my hobbies every time. Getting back to the subject at hand, I'm very happy for the organization, and it was great to see a strong showing by Twins players and Twins fans alike, despite the poor performance on the field. It appears to have been successful for all of the parties involved (pun intended).

    Buxton, Sano, and Vargas each have a long way to go. You may be right, but I think only one of those three cracks the bigs in 2015. Until they're each ready, you have to be able to roll. No sense in moving somebody to make room for a guy who isn't there yet.
