i saw 24 hours as arbitrary. I love the Twins, but I think we're taking all of this a bit too seriously and personally. It's sports and a lot of fun. I don't mean to gang up on you or anyone. I don't want to make anyone feel bad. I just want to feed our imaginations and have fun with solving the mystery of sorting out the rumors based on truth from the rumors trying to throw us off.

We don't "know" anything. It's all rumors and conjecture until the deal is done. The point is that there has been claims that individuals are making baseless rumors when in truth there's chatter out there by media members and other bloggers that puts some legs under the conjecture. Again, until the deal is done its all rumor, but I believe there's enough chatter by disparate individuals that there's at least some substantiation.

if it was a punt, then why was he DFA'd? Agreed it's not feasible to be a strict loogy when your starting rotation is pitching 4-1/3 every night, but 70 righties/30 lefties? C'mon give the guy a chance -
i bet the Dodgers would do De Leon and Alvarez plus 3rd piece but the Twins want De Leon and Belinger plus a 3rd piece or more to get more closer to major league ready talent than the Dodgers really want to give up right now

Sorry to pick nits The book/movie is "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" so... "One Thread Over The Cuckoo's" might fit a little better. Especially considering the circumstances

my favorite beat writer is Berardino, mostly Twitter. I come here for depth coverage, analysis and comradery. I get a lot of my discussion outside of print from Gleeman and the Geek and the Sportiv. I find Randballstu really funny.

I generally don't agree with LEN III, but as a beat reporter he's fine. When ever reading any beat report one must remember that the relationship with the club is important to maintain, so they rarely make waves. That might be why I generally don't agree with LEN III.

.600 prolly won't start, but a bit over buys a bench role. I think .650 is feasible and buys a starting role with elite defense.

If the dodgers are looking for equal parts improvement and salary relief, could Urias and Puig be had for Dozier and maybe one of Rosario, Kepler or Palka?

i don't think he'll ever be a "good major league hitter" but with his defensive reputation I think he could hit well enough to pass. At least he'll be good enough for a bench role. It's good to have pinch running and defensive replacement options too.

i can see Palka winning starting RF w/ Rosario as 4th OF. Struggle with Park, Vargas, and Mauer on the 25 man roster at the same time. With the question of Sano sticking at third, and assuming Dozier gets traded at some point, Vielma seems more likely your second bench infielder.

indeed, good hitting bench, but man that's a tough on positional flexibility

agreed. If Dozier were that good and more valuable to this team than anything they could possibly get in a trade, then don't trade him. However, this team has lots of ways to score and few ways to stop opposition from scoring. Free agency won't cut it. Patience won't cut it. Who to trade if not Dozier?
