  1. Same as the amatuer draft that we have now, they dont have control either.
  2. I thought it was a good plan, but I am kind of surprised you are not mad that Perkins didnt go 2 innings. Would you have felt different if May gives up a run there?
  3. Set back yes, disappointment, all depends on how you look at things, but you said they didnt start at an advanced level last yr when they should have, but then say the Twins started him at an advanced level because they must have thought he was capable.........maybe the Twins started him low, and then decided to challenge him, he failed the first of many trials for a prospect, but that doesnt mean he will fail the whole course, he still is going to be high on my prospect list and I would guess others too.......im guessing you havnt given up on him, but you do seem to have a sour taste in your mouth either about him or how the Twins challenged him and how it failed.
  4. If you can show me a quote or someone quoting personel from the Twins as saying he was expected to be in the show this yr, i will agree......If people on Twins daily are or were expecting it , altho i love seeing everyones speculation, that is not the same as someone really in the know......................I, like everyone was hoping he might be......................but a prospect is just that, HOPE........they have to prove it, and i have no grand illusions that a 2nd Rd pick will be our saviour when most 2nd rd picks dont even make it..........................Now with all that said, I still think Burdi is going to make it, but that is more hoping than knowing anything.........and if he doesnt make it till 24 or 25, it is not the end of the world, alot of good relief pitchers didnt make their debut till that age or after.
  5. Completely disagree, i am very optimistic and before season started, i was hoping to be .500, i certainly wasnt expecting it..........Somewhere their is a poll as to what Twins Daily posters felt the Twins would win, i would bet most guesses were in the 72-75 range..............and IMO Molitor does get it, you see him talking to his players and trying to help them in the game they are in, he is not just a behind closed doors manager, if he sees something he seems to tell his players, have seen it in the game telecast when he brings a group of players together for an in game adjustment or what he sees from his perspective........I like it.
  6. I have said this for many yrs also, i just didnt like the way he managed, and his boring demeanor didnt help like him........................but when they were winning games, cant say too much.
  7. Its only a lost yr if you expected him to be in the majors this yr, I think hoping he would be in next yr is optimistic, and 2017 more realistic , and that is assuming you think a 2nd rounder is a sure thing, if he was a sure thing he would have been taken in the 1st round by someone........I believe your expectations of some Twins minor leaguers is just a little to optimistic.
  8. AAAA player?????
  9. There is 25 have Mauer and Hunter on same DH line
  10. I know i have seen the comparison of Plouffe to Cuddyer, but , even tho Cuddyer was no speedster, he was certainly faster than Plouffe, so keep Plouffe in the infield or trade him...........My OF for next year would be, LF Rosario, CF Buxton, RF Hicks, 4th OF Arcia, and Hunter DH-5th OF. And Kepler waiting in the wings at AAA.
  11. May was a 4th round pick, not quite a top draft pick, altho was once a top prospect in the Phillies organization.
  12. Hope from some of the fans, because there is no patience........also I would guess a majority of second rounders dont even make the majors, someone else can look that up..............and as far as demoting, bring back confidence.
  13. Well unless any said trades of Nolasco, Pelfrey, Duensing, return Greinke , Trout, or the like LOL
  14. Ideal for me after we make trades and or DFA players and some may stay on DL SP Hughes SP Gibson SP May SP Santana SP Berrios RP Perkins RP Pressly RP Fien RP Graham RP Meyer RP Rogers RP Achter C Suzuki C Herrmann 1st Sano 2nd Dozier 3rd Plouffe SS Polanco LF Rosario CF Buxton RF Hicks DH Hunter/Mauer UTL Escobar UTL Santana
  15. If you reread what he wrote, he means by "stretched out", more time between starts for rest. Not the 'traditional' stretched out like you do on a rehab.
  16. May for Posey!!!!
  17. He was referring to starting pitching, i believe, and I am almost sure i seen on the Twins broadcast that the Twins starters ERA was like 8th best(3.79?) in the ML this yr, their bullpen is another issue. I am going off of memory on the 8th best, and 3.79, but i know it was not 13th.
  18. I also think most of us are happy with Graham, and really had no real feeling one way or the other losing Gilmartin at the time, but in hindsight, it would be nice to have Gilmartin, and he probably would have been kept if they were not going to sign Duensing.
  19. I am fine with pulling Milone there, either way didnt really make a difference, Fien was going to pitch the 8th inning if we had a lead. He has pitched well, it was just one of those games, i suppose someone will complain that someone was taken out early when Perkins blows his first save.
  20. Not that they necessarily didnt work out, because some of them will, just when it seems some people demand that so and so come up, they are thinking they will be a savior to the team or season............so far i am happy for the most part(pitching??? maybe not LOL) with how they have moved players up and down.
  21. Is that what you got out of what i said???? I didnt insinuate any of that........just saying with all the players the fans have demanded, and they have demanded heavily on Vargas to stay up, when he was sent down..................that most of the demands they had came to fruition but didnt bare much fruit............and no where did i say that who was called up when was because of pressure of fans, never will happen. So to those demanding, they will come up when the front office sees fit that they are ready, what do we know............i do have my frustrations too, altho not this yr so far, but me demanding that so and so should be up, does nothing for me or anyone else
  22. Well it might help him in that is might produce pressure for him to be selected by the manager, as much as Perkins has done, if we only get one representative, i hope it to be Dozier.
  23. I am getting tired of all the call up DEMANDS, the front office has done a super job this yr of promoting , both at the MLB and MiLB level, have some patience..............Lets see how our demands have done for us, Santana, poor performance, Hicks , less than expected, Buxton , less than avg and now hurt, Vargas, less than expected, Meyer poor 1st outing...........I think the front office has been more than fair to our prospects, and trying to win at the same time. I sometimes swear some of the fans want the AA team up and then still blame the GM for not winning.......Thank goodness for professional minds making the decisions. RANT OVER!!!!
  24. I kind of agree with you , i am not a fan of Castro either, but I think most non biased people would trade Dozier for Castro, IMO.................. but if i had the chance, i would love to see Russell at SS and Polanco at 2nd.
