  1. I guess I should of said that posters would prefer to trade Rosario in lieu of other players on the roster. Trading Plouffe at this point is almost a no brainer if you can get a fair trade. I guess my point is I think Rosario has a lot of upside and is a player we need on this roster going forward. Arcia is a tough one, but I see your point. If he can't contribute of the bench they will have to move him.
  2. Rosario has a lot of talent. If everything comes together he will be a top of the order hitter that we need. It always confounds me when I see posters that want to trade him.
  3. I notice one guy picked Aaron Hicks as his surprise player for the American League. Two picked Denard Span for the National League.
  4. Yes. There was a lawsuit about it which is where the follow your team option came from. They didn't fix the crazy map though. It's ok in some places. When I lived in Florida it was fine.
  5. Cubs, White Sox, Tigers, and Reds. They seem to throw in a few random surprise blocks every once in a while as well.
  6. I'm a cord cutter and live out of market. I used MLB TV for a while, but they block like a 1/4 of the games where I live now. They can go to hell. Know Of D Internet?
  7. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOlasco. I was rooting against you this spring, but you pulled it out with a 4.05 era and an impressive 1.43 WHIP. I'm sure that will lead to a successful regular season
  8. This article reminds me of a quote about Kent Hrbek. It was along the lines of "If he got in shape we would not be able to afford him". Not that Sano is in that territory yet. Realistically I would have to agree with Dave that we can't complain about Sano because his play on the field has been excellent. He's done his job and earned his paycheck. It's not Sano's fault that the Twins decided he should be an outfielder in the offseason. It's his life and if he doesn't want to do an extreme work out and diet program to become an outfielder, then that's his decision. If he signed a huge contract to play the outfield I would feel differently.
  9. What a bunch of dirtbags. This is like buying someone a car and then having them ask you to pay for repairs after they crash it.
  10. Luckily the Twins noticed this problem 3 years ago and drafted guys that can strike people out. We should start seeing them this year and I'm excited to see it. Not that they couldn't of signed one more during the offseason, but it's not the end of the world. I'm a lot more worried about the future rotation.
  11. To be fair the roof usually does collapse on them. It's uncanny. Source: I've watched quite a few Lions games with some Michigan friends.
  12. If history has taught us anything he will be claimed by another team and then put back on waivers. He should go through about 3 or 4 teams and be pitching by the all star break. My money is on him ending up on the Toronto AAA affiliate.
  13. Surprising to no one with any common sense there were managers and players who were not happy about some weirdo trying to home school his kid in the club house. http://www.si.com/mlb/2016/03/19/adam-drake-laroche-white-sox-players-complained Sale and LaRoche both behaved like children and look pretty bad to normal people. I can see how making millions to play baseball your whole life could warp your perspective a bit though, so it's understandable.
  14. During that time I went to every home game. A friend of mine had 4 season tickets because his wife worked for the Twins. A lot of people were in favor of letting Ortiz go because he couldn't play defense. I thought he was the best hitter on the team. When he came up to bat you were excited. The arguments were short though because we had much different evaluations of Ortiz. What the Twins should of learned was not to get rid of your best hitter. I agree with Ortiz as well that they likely would of won some championships with him on the team and I don't blame him at all for being salty about it. He did everything they asked, was successful, then they let him go.
  15. I do appreciate that Ortiz gives his honest opinion when it comes to the Twins. It's not anything fans haven't said, but it's good to hear that players have similar concerns. Hopefully he's wrong this time. I think the odds are on his side though.
  16. Rumor has it that the White Sox are going to be removing the cotton candy maker as well. Sale likely to demand a trade. What a bunch of clowns.
  17. According to this article http://m.twins.mlb.com/news/article/167965732/minnesota-twins-prospects-at-spring-training "Eades looked very sharp in his first outing the other day. His fastball was up to 97 mph and he was mixing four pitches in a two-inning stint," Radcliff said. "It's the hardest we've seen him throw, and it'll be interesting to see if he can sustain that velocity." I haven't really expected much from Eades. Definitely not an increase in velocity. Maybe he will surprise us?
  18. Not quite. There's 3 things that can happen if he refuses assignment. You're right about the first one. The second is if he go's unclaimed he can just not play. He get's paid to not play, but the Twins still control his rights. The third is that Nolasco can choose free agency. He forfeits his contract if he does that, so it would never happen.
  19. That's the kind of thinking that caused the Russians all their problems Nolasco has never done anything worth rooting for. He signed a big contract and has pitched badly since day 1. I seem to remember him complaining a little along the way as well. Really I mean play well in spring training. If by some kind of miracle he were to actually have a good season I would not be mad about it
  20. Am I the only one who doesn't want to see Nolasco do well? I'd hate for him to win the 5th starter job and then have to watch him pitch 100 innings before the Twins give up on him again.
  21. What's your argument? Above average pitcher who gives you 200+ innings a year is a good upside for May. I've never heard anyone say he has the stuff to be any better than that. I'll be doing cartwheels if he makes it that far.
  22. You're not wrong. What I was saying is that they signed some starting pitchers when they shouldn't of. I think this often, but try not to say it. To much hindsight. To easy to say now. I did not think those teams could of been competitive either, so that colors my views as well. If you run the Twins you can't really say you're punting this year, but still want people to buy season tickets. I take it back. We should really just discuss what the Twins should do from this point forward.
  23. Really the Twins should of been aiming for this year to be active it free agency. You know about when your highly touted prospects are going to become major league players. You know when Elite players from other teams and yours will hit free agency. Imagine if we had Buxton and Sano entering their first full year with Cueto leading the rotation. No Nolasco, Hughes, or even Santana to worry about. Sure we'd have to add another pitcher, but there would be better options. Hindsight is 20/20 of course.
  24. I'm pretty well convinced the Twins are not as cheap as they have been in the past. The contracts for Mauer and Nolasco are pretty good examples. As far as using the resources well......Then that's another story. In these rebuilding years they should of blown up their international pool money at least once. You're not spending it anywhere else and it's a good way to acquire assets for the future. Maybe they did not see players that were worth the investment at that time. Most of the big market teams have already done this, so this year should be a good indicator of how important it is to the Twins to build a contender.
  25. I love it too. It's honestly my favorite sports quote of all time.I have nothing else to add, but I felt giving you a like was not enough.
