  1. Guessing I'm not the only one who looks at Bader and is reminded of the Wrench.
  2. Finally the pitching staff is a team strength so let's deal perhaps the #1 starter. That type of thinking eventually has them trading a batting champ for an arm. No, thank you.
  3. For lo these many years looking for a quality pitching staff and immediately some so-called "experts" want to dismantle it, It's that type of thinking that has a team trading a batting champ for an arm. Know when to hold 'em.
  4. Your last sentence said it all. Core contributor for years to come. It's in his DNA.
  5. While very much a Rocco critic credit where credit is due. Ober is clearly a testament to the Twins development program and Bride gives the coaching staff credit for a hands adjustment that has turned 4-40 into a rope strokin' machine. Question. It's been said the Twins cannot beat a good team. Does that mean Cleveland is not a good team, or that they can, in fact, beat a quality opponent? Ride the wave. Go Twins!
  6. Excellent pitching, some clutch swings and a highlight reel catch.. Solid win and sweep. Yes it's the Angels but a sweep beats the alternative. Perhaps it's been noted but Correa's rocket in the 6th was changed from an error to a hit so 3-4. His lumber is starting to heat up. Go Twins! Turn the page on the gut punches.
  7. On topic the pitching staff has me cautiously optimistic but optimistic nonetheless. Off topic perhaps not as wickedly cruel as Penitentiary Face for Jeffrey Leonard but Reyes had a great nickname. The Big Sweat.
  8. Agree with the level of angst. But what's the answer? Keep on tweaking, a truck load of TNT or something in between. Extremely painful watching them attempt to push runs across the plate. Reminds one of a constipated elephant. Yet my view from the nickel seats is that many of the pieces are there to be quite successful and despite the handful of gut punches the pitching looks solid across the board. And Keaschall could be their '91 Knoblauch. My frustration grows simply typing this. Go Twins!
  9. I am as well. Glad Louie decided to accept the role. You can make a lot of dough out of the pen young man.
  10. Wonderful player. Tragic ending. But 3 seasons doesn't get you into a HOF
  11. Hesitate to make this comment as this site appears to be pro-Baldelli but my view from the nickle seats is this: Two important duties for a manager are running a pitching staff and ensuring his team plays sound fundamental baseball. Neither of those items would be considered a strength for Rocco.
