  1. Well, a lot of the hitters do need more batting practice. I guess he could help there
  2. Just tuned in. Weird that none of the fielders are wearing hats
  3. Wait, you're telling me a WHIP over 2 isn't sustainable? I do like seeing more Ks than IP though. For better or worse, he's been making it interesting. Something to build on for sure
  4. Max Meyer of the Gophers by way of Woodbury (a double "he's from here" guy!) will be pitching against his hometown team for the first time. That's gotta be a pretty cool feeling. I hope he gets shelled!
  5. Going to Cleveland and winning: - A one-run game (two of them, in fact) - An extra-inning game - A bullpen game - A series All while panhandling for relief pitching is a welcome unexpected surprise
  6. If I didn't know any better, I'd think that keeping all your prospects in a role they won't be used in at the MLB level because you're afraid to commit them one way or the other would be considered a half measure. But that can't be right, cuz they don't do half measures
  7. I knew the Twins would benefit from Festa in the pen at some point this year
  8. Sure, but long term they must be looking at one or the other. Unless they're planning on bringing this bulk concept to the majors on a more permanent basis, which would be dumb, he's going to end up on one track or the other - starter or reliever If they're using this bulk concept with the thinking that he could pivot either direction from it (still dumb), then I would consider him to still be a starter candidate
  9. Optioned is the key word there for me If they are still planning on keeping Klein semi-stretched out with the possibility of developing into a starter, then this move is a shrug for me. He's younger than some of the other potential shift-to-the-bullpen candidates, and they can't convert them all at once. But if they are already looking at him as a bullpen guy, then what are we doing here?
  10. He went to Hambino High - many years later, but still. Is John Klein the new Kevin Bacon?
  11. I don't know if I trust the defense to pull off the intentionally-dropped infield fly trick
  12. If the playoffs started today, the AL bracket would look like this: The Rays (24-12) would host the Mariners (18-20) for the right to play the Yankees (25-12) The Guardians (19-19) would host the Tigers (18-20) for the right to play the A's (18-18)* In other words, one side of the bracket would have two teams on a 108+ win pace, while the other would have nobody over .500 Gary Bettman thinks this is a great bracket *EDIT: it's possible they could swap the Guardians and A's, but same difference
  13. Word is they've also been sliding into Louis Varland's DMs at three in the morning
