    When asked what she would do if Trump asked her to use torture, didn't she reply he would never do that? This from a man who already had said he believes torture works. I am sure the Senate followed up on that. Really the majority of the people who have been nominated and confirmed have been either unqualified for their job or chosen specifically because they will dismantle the agency they are going to be heading. We are going to be paying for the lack of any true conviction on the Hill for a long, long time just for some of the judicial appointments alone. Sounds like there is a chance Trump might not be getting his Noble Peace Prize for solving the Korean problem. I still don't think there is an ambassador to South Korea, which I think could be problematic.

    Think Trump will say something thoughtful about the situation in Gaza where 50 people have been killed in the last few weeks, including during Ivanka and Jared's photo ops ribbon cutting ceremony, or will he just pat his own back?

    I am hoping the team that got swept by Tampa was the alien imposters and this team is the real thing.

    They played some pretty bad baseball over that period, but I do wonder how much losing four days to the winter that did not end and then flying off to PR messed them up. It certainly does not excuse that stretch and there were flaws exposed that had nothing to do with a disruption of games, but I wonder if that stretch would not have been quite as ugly.

    Luckily it does not matter, because I just mute the announcers and get some excellent commentary and baseball insight reading the TD game thread instead.

    Think of some of the pitchers that came up 2011 - 2014 - most of whose names have been banished from my memory. It is nice to see someone with true talent and potential and not someone you break into a cold sweat when you see his name in the line-up.

    Nicknames are a lot harder to come up with in the post-Gardenhire era.

    It is hard to imagine how hiring someone to be your lawyer who really has not done much legal practice in close to 30 years, is known for liking to promote himself and speaking impulsively, has shown that he is more likely going to be a sycophant and not give you an honest opinion when needed, could possibly have gone wrong.

    I am assuming this is fake - but I still like it. Probably not the way Hannity wanted the interview to go.

    Nothing like grasping at straws, but it does seem like two of the more recent losses were not quite as epically disastrous. It really could have been 4 and 11, so really they are practically back in contention... It is nice to see someone have a strong debut and hopefully he can continue to contribute.

    I would not mind if he got a few more of these suits. He does not even try to be truthful or based in reality anymore. Some of his personal attacks are pretty over-the-top and reckless. I think Dolly had some impact as well - in addition to saving Washington's portrait.

    Sorry - I missed this and figured since I was asked, I should at least respond, although I think the discussion has run its course. My not being her biggest fan, like an early post said, was from the days of the W administration. The Katrina remark is the one that stands out, but there were other things she said during those years that I did not care for (which at this point cannot remember making for a really good argument). I know it was not just the Katrina statement. That said, I am also not her biggest critic. I do think she was tough, smart, and was not afraid to speak her mind or call out her party. I admire the way she handled her last days when she knew the end was near, and whatever their history, she and George seemed to have a true partnership.

    Are you talking about TV or some of the game threads?

    I don't personally, but I had a friend who just had a hair line fracture in her foot, and it was missed in the first round of X-rays and then was caught when she had them done again a week later.

    I was wondering about that. I liked the first season, but thought for season 2 they will need to be a little more coherent, because the total weirdness will start to wear thin. I don't have cable, so I won't be able to judge for myself until I can stream it on Hulu. Anyone watch Dark on Netflix? It was recommended to me as being a "darker" Stranger Things. I have only watched on episode, but it was pretty creepy.

    I was out for a walk and went by a house with the radio on in the back yard, and I heard runners on first and third no outs. I kept walking not wanting to hear the carnage or hear another game slip away in the late innings, but luckily it appears there was none.

    There is a feeling of deja vu. In 2015 they seemed to have turned the corner and people expected that to be built on in 2016. Not only did they not get better in 2016 they dropped off a cliff. It is odd because it is not like there are radical difference in make-up of the team from year to year, but the results were completely different. Hopefully they can pull out of this tail spin, because it will a shame if they are completely irrelevant by Memorial Day and 2017 like 2015 won't seem like a cruel tease in retrospect.

    I can understand why he aggravates some people, but I would be hesitant to imply he got complacent because of the contract. Other factors are he lost his Metrodome home-run sweet spot, he had health issues in 2011, and again post concussion the end of 2013 to who knows when. There are too many other factors since his contract kicked in to do a comparison pre-contract and post-contract numbers.

    How about batting title in the regular season and MVP of one of the play-off series?

    I am still hoping a World Series ring in the next couple of years is what pushes him over the edge. Extra points if it is because of a walk off walk.
