    If you think 2000 is good, I am looking forward to when Joe's 2164th hit drives in the winning run of Game 7 of the World Series.

    You would think he would be especially appropriate in honor of Joe and his 2000th hit.

    I did read some trivia that Mauer had about three hits since the last time the Wolves were in the play-offs, so he managed to get about 1995 hits in between play-off appearances.

    The Mauer debate is getting a little math-y (and maybe physic-y). Is that allowed?

    One God's sense of humor is one mortal's anguish and pain. It seems like the Baseball Gods are like Greek and Roman gods of Chief's youth - amusing themselves by playing tricks on the people of earth.

    I think the most appropriate Mauer charge would be charging the umpire the next time he gets a called third strike. "You think you have a better eye than me Dirt Bag?! I am Joe Mauer!" There is the story he charged his brother and ended up putting his had through some glass in the bathroom door to try and reach him. Since that was probably the late 90's, he is due for another eruption soon.

    Sadly, I am now at the point where I am hoping it is the new "30".

    I really would not be sad to see any of these people decide to leave office. Collectively you do not get much lower than this group.

    Harry Potter is probably a good reference for Mauer. In 1997 he would have been prime Harry Potter age.

    Despite the ugliness of the game, it is still nice to say the won the series against the Astros.

    I believe he is quoting Delmon Young. He said stuff like that all the time when he was on the team.

    So is every game going to be like this when it is above freezing?

    I read this as Harry Potter and the Death of Princess Di, and was thinking I do not remember that one at all.

    They are all pretty bad. One thing I will say about McConnell, he might be more honest than Ryan in the fact that he is pretty open about how bad he is. Ryan in the past has tried to seem like he can be somewhat reasonable, when really all along his life time goal is to gut social security and enforce some Ayn Rand philosophy (even though he himself befitted from social security as a young man). Plus he seems to have the spine of a jelly fish and is careful to not say anything with much conviction so it cannot be used against him later. I think he might be more fake than McConnell, but really we are comparing vermin and slugs at this point. Part of the reason Trump is so out of control is that none of these people would speak up early in the game to try and keep him in check, but they were more concerned about their personal career rather than what was best for the country or even their own party. I read a statement that we had safeguards for a bad president, but nothing for when Congress is also complicit.

    You should have followed safe biking and worn a helmet to protect from bicycling transmitted diseases.

    I preferred when the non-game conversation was more Star Trek related, I am not sure I want to know where this is heading - although I sense an ish (or ick).

    I should not have taken the extra time to figure out how to do the cross out font.

    He was pretty fortunate - but he had to worry about the crystals, so he did not have it too easy. One of my favorite part of Galaxy Quest was they were always worried about "Guy" getting killed because he was basically a red shirt in their series.

    I have problems with them, but I think it is from watching the original Star Trek series growing up. I wonder which player is not not going to survive the episode game.

    I don't think that kind of layered and nuanced voice work cannot be taught. It is a gift.

    Wasn't that pic taken when he realized someone replaced his 2% with skim? No one messes with his milk.
