  1. I used to love those games above... We also used to play a paper version of battle ship in the car. Speaking of battleships - this was the car: Also old enough to remember when the remote control was the youngest person in the room.
  2. Back in my day it was harder to take a selfie with your phone. instead you used something called a camera and had to drop off something called film to be developed before you saw your pictures.
  3. I watched the first season of Dark -- last summer I think. I might have even posted about it on this thread. I remember thinking the first episode or two were pretty creeopy, but was more annoyed by the time it ended. I haven't decided whether to watch season 2 or not. Good to know about the subtitles, it might be more effective hearing the real voices -- some of the dubbing seemed a bit off emotion-wise.
  4. Was he carrying gift baskets? [i feel creepy just typing that.]
  5. I remember listening to the Twins on WELY. If you were lucky, you could hear some good Polka music beforehand. This team has a little bit of power... And then some - WOW!
  6. About anything - there could be a story about a collie saving a boy from a well - followed by a bunch of negative comments, half of them somehow working a gripe about the Vikings and Twins in there even though it was not a sports story.
  7. There was noting to worry about, as expected. That was the first time CC has lost at Target Field?
  8. I seem to remember it being decent for awhile - not so much by the time it was pulled. I would occasoinally go to the KFAN boards if I wanted to feel very toxic, altough their Twins board was light and happy compared to the Vikings board. I believe that is also no longer in existence. I have a feeling that last play lost something in translation on the radio.
  9. Hmm -- some of the between inning things - mascot races - quiz shows could use some spicing up - might be an element to add to freshen things up.
  10. I don't suppose the Yankee bullpen is similar to our in quality. I could live with that.
  11. This reminds me of tings I learned to do in my high school computer math class using Basic on the mighty Apple 2e. Skill that did not lead to a lucrative career in computer programing. This is not exactly a pitcher's duel.
  12. I don't have cable, so am usually listening on the radio. My downstairs neighbor watches every game. I often hear him shout a good 30 seconds after I heard the play on the radio. This is kind of a strange game - but am not complaining....
  13. Is that a crack about Chief or River Brian?
  14. Maybe the spider clip is misleading and she is really friendly like Charlotte. She was probably just going to give him directions out of the swamp.
  15. My Dad was a Lego magnet and that picture is pretty accurate. My Mom sewed, he was also very good at finding any lost pins. Shag carpet had a lot of hidden dangers.
  16. I was joking, but that actually is a pretty good answer.
  17. Twins Daily transcends being just a website and is something bigger at a higher level (what that is I am not sure).
  18. Yes - I am kind of the same with Tony Stark, thought the actor did a good job, but was not that upset that he died, although some good acting when he looked at Strange and knew this was it. Also kudos to Paltrow and/or the director for her subdued, not scenery chewing, good bye. It was very effective. For some reason don't really care about the Peter Parker - Tony Stark kind-of father figure type relationship. I am not sure they really needed to bring this Spiderman into the Avengers mix for these movies. The Soul Stone scene probably was the emotional moment of the movie, although Thor's scene with his mother, and Captain's send-off were up there. I figured there would be at least one big real death in this movie. Prior to its release, I was betting Captain A would make some sacrifice of his life, so I was relieved he made it through, and possibly a reason I was not as saddened by Stark's death, I was relived it was not CA. Considering how much they were juggling, I thought they did a pretty good job of wrapping things up. The cast seemed to give it their all until the end, and Downy Jr. and Evans had a nice good bye to characters they played for the last ten years.
  19. It was zero-zero when I went to take a shower --my showers aren't that long - do I even want to see how this happened?
  20. Off-topic, but being a kid when Grover was the main character, seeing Elmo years later when nieces and nephews etc were watching it, I always felt Elmo came from hell. The Tickle Me Elmo phase confirmed that. Yes - it is a loss, but I do think they have enough depth there to lessen the pain. Feel bad for him though.
  21. Good question. He has gotten more talkative and more comfortable at these things. He is never going to be overly-animated, but I bet when he is just hanging out with his buddies he can tell a few stories. I am assuming the concussion was the main reason he retired, but I wonder if he was already thinking about it when he learned he was going to have another baby in the fall. He certainly seems to enjoy spending more time with those kids.
  22. This is a statement that arguably deserved an all-caps treatment.
  23. Is Punto standing in the back - is that why we cannot see him? This pic makes me feel not young - although it does look like they have kept themselves in shape. Would be a wicked softball team.
