  1. The first part is not true. They can send Duffey down and if it turns out he is too hurt to pitch they can retroactively put him on the mlb DL. They also could put one of them on the DL. Either one is fine. All I ever hear is that we have a ton of SP depth and it takes 7 or 8 starters to get through a season. If that is true, then why are we afraid to put one of these guys on the DL? In Ervins case, he'd only miss one more start. Second, I don't think Plouffe is anywhere near returning. This is typically a 6 to 8 week injury, and while everyone heals at a different rate, I don't think I've heard any reports of him swinging a bat.
  2. The offense was brutal to start, but overall I'm not sure they have been below expectations. I think our rank in OBP and ops are pretty much right where they were at the end of last season.
  3. Nice to see Harrison possibly figuring some things out. Better late than never. With all the depth we already have at the corners he'll likely never start here regardless, but he could end up having some value as a second or third piece in a trade.
  4. There is no reason to put him on the 40 man roster if you are not willing to call him up today if needed.
  5. We are not playing in NL parks anymore. You are forgetting the DH.
  6. It's worse than that. This is a professional scout who has been around the game for 50 years who scouted Murphy in person the last few days. His personal evaluation was that Murphy belonged on a mlb roster, when in fact the player was playing without his heart in the game and decided to retire because he didn't have it anymore. Wow. It's time for Ryan to step down and let someone younger take over.
  7. On what planet was that a decent outing?
  8. Isn't this exactly why Meyer was called up?
  9. I get that we can't expect them to hit their body weight, but would it be too much to ask of our catchers to not throw the ball around the field?
  10. Do you have a link to that quote? If true that's a fireable offense.
  11. And if so, this is why so many were upset at bringing Gardy back into the organization. It makes him the default replacement if Molitor is ever fired.
  12. If Duffy goes to the DL, Polanco can be recalled. Ten day wait is waived with the DL move.
  13. Also Meyer has now been marooned to the bullpen. As we've seen with May, that is a one way trip, no matter what they say. I'd put the over/under on future starts in a Twins uniform for May and Meyer combined at 1.
  14. They will find excuse after excuse to keep Berrios in the minors for at least a couple more years. They are not going to put themselves in a situation where they have a top of the rotation starter hitting free agency before age 30.
  15. As stated above, Pohlad already confirmed that Molitor has the job as long as he wants it.
  16. Alternatively they could have left Kepler up and demoted Duffey or DL,d Ervin. Playing an MLB game with a 2 man bench makes them look like they have no idea what they are doing.
  17. I think Molitor is proving that last sentence wrong with his baffling incompetent in game moves.
  18. As someone who was a huge fan of Molitor as a player, I actually feel bad for how over matched and incompetent he looks as a manager.
  19. I think they need a first and second catcher.
  20. Good thing it's only April. Hopefully we can get most of these kinks worked out before the real games start later this week.
  21. I think Kepler will go down tomorrow when Danny Santana is activated, and they will keep duffey (or call up a relief pitcher) until they are sure Ervin Santana can make his next start.
