  1. Well if the inference isn't relax, it's still early enough to recover and make the playoffs, then I'm not sure what it is? The goal is to make the playoffs. If you don't then there isn't really a substantial difference between you and the worst team in the league.
  2. I dunno about that. I'd be curious if anyone has ever made the playoffs after starting 0 and 6. I'd have to think the list is pretty slim, if not none.
  3. And sadly enough he's vastly out pitched both jepsen and perkins.
  4. Spieth trying to win back to back Masters with 2 hands around his throat.
  5. You can't make an out on the bases as the winning run in extra innings.
  6. Some "points"? What sport are you watching?
  7. Well, Jordan Spieth is threatening to one again turn the Masters into a snooze festival, so maybe I'll be able to get outside and get something done after all.
  8. Well of course he understands that getting on base is a good thing. But clearly there is a disconnect somewhere, as far as applying that to batting order, with these old school guys. How else do you explain putting Santana 3 games in a row, and now Rosario, in the 2 hole? Especially when you have a pretty much tailor made number 2 hitter on your roster (Mauer).
  9. Yep. Ultimately I leave it on because I like the convenience of letting auto correct capitalize and apostrophe contractions when needed.
  10. For the record, I would have been fine if they had decided to start him in AAA. But they didn't. So, since they decided to start him here I think they should ultimately let him get a decent sample size of AB's before they send him down.
  11. No, it's apparently not a Twins fan not which is why it changes Mauer to Maurer, lol.
  12. Yeah no kidding, cripes, how many times do I have to disclaim that I'm not comparing Buxton to Trout. I was responding to a poster who was basically saying that he's a bust prospect because he has struggled out of the gate.
  13. Yeah, my phone auto corrects to that spelling because that is how my wife's maiden name is spelled. Its pretty annoying.
  14. Some level of k's are one thing fireman. This level, that we are seeing this year though, they simply cannot strikeout THIS much and have any offensive success, period.
  15. I have to admit, if someone told me before the season that Mauer, Escobar, and Nolasco would carry the team the first week I'd have said they were crazy. Of course, they are carrying us to an 0 and 6 record, but still.
  16. Whoever this new pitcher we got to fill Nolasco's place is, he's pretty good.
  17. My point wasn't that Buxton is Trout. It was that even the best hitters in the game can struggle in their first couple hundred AB's.
  18. Which I pointed out multiple times was to show how crazy it is to want Buxton sent down already, not to actually rip Park. It's such a small sample size, what would Buxtons slash line be if he had a 4 for 4 with 2 doubles tomorrow?
  19. Sure, it could help with confidence issues. Eventually he's going to have to make the adjustments at the mlb level though. Buxton is an elite prospect. Therefore he will and should get a long leash to prove he can or cannot make those adjustments. I'm not saying we can't point out that he's struggled so far, I'm just saying let's give him 200 AB's this season before we conclude he hasn't made any improvement.
  20. It's not, it was used in response to a triple slash reflecting 14 AB's to make a point.
  21. Ahh, the massive 16 AB sample size. How could so many scouts have missed so badly on this kid. Just for kicks, how did Mike Trout do in his first couple hundred AB's?
  22. Can't miss doesn't mean he won't struggle. His body of work in the minors combined with his tools suggest he'll figure it out eventually. The one place he's guaranteed to NOT learn how to hit MLB pitching is on AAA.
  23. My post was to point out how ridiculous it would be to send down Buck after 5 games, not to say I've given up on Park.
  24. Buxton is seeing most of these guys for the first time too. My post wasn't meant to rip Park but more to defend Buxton. Let's give him a couple hundred AB's before we talk demotion. His defense makes him an above replacement level player with anything above .600 OPS. Which, yes, I realize he's well below even that right now.
  25. Of course, we all would, but come on, how sustainable is that with a k rate near 60%?
