  1. They may not have slung the ball around, but Bridgewater did have the highest completion percentage of under 25 year old QB in the history of the NFL. And was poised to take a big step forward this year. There is no hope now, none, unless you enjoy mediocrity. The gap between Bridgewater and Hill is astronomical. The Vikings went from legit SB contenders to a .500 club in an instant. And if the injury is as bad as Sporting News is reporting, this could be a career threatening injury. The Vikings are cursed.
  2. Vikings and it's not even close.
  3. Do you live in a cave, or trying to be clever?
  4. Has anyone's opinion changed now that we know Schaefer is here to play, and not to rot on the bench?
  5. I clearly said "when healthy". He played in 40 of 67 games since coming off the DL on 6/17. That fits the description of most games. Before that injury, he played in all 31 consecutive games, after coming off the DL on 4/25. Before that injury he had played in 4 of the first 5 games. When he's been on the roster, he's played in 75 of 103 games.
  6. What do you mean by "25th player"? When he's healthy, Santana plays most days. He's not some guy sitting on the end of the bench in case someone gets hurt.
  7. Arenado has an astonishing +.217 OPS split at home. Bryant is actually OPS'ing. 154 WORSE in his home Park. The Coors Field effect is legit.
  8. Ron Paul "it's happening" is the one that gets me every time.
  9. Well I'd give May the benefit of the doubt that he knows his own body better than anyone else. He says that his back holds up better with the regular routine of starting. How is that not all the evidence you need?
  10. If anything the staff content is sometimes too positive, considering the depths of failure surrounding this team for the last 6 years. I thought the article was great, spot on, and necessary. Keep up the good work Nick.
  11. Well this just can't be true. I was told that it was nothing to worry about because he was only here as insurance off the bench.
  12. Yeah he could perform poorly. Or, like Kepler and Polanco he could come up and play well. And yeah, it won't mean a ton over that sample size, but it's still some data. With Schaefer you get nothing. Agree to disagree I guess. I think you should find the silver lining in a lost season, that being the chance to evaluate possible future pieces.
  13. Walker is soon to be 25 years old and has over 1000 PA's in the high minors. He's not going to be harmed by getting called up to the MLB right now.
  14. And how do you get a large sample if you don't start with a small sample? Any at bats given to guys like Logan Schaefer in late August of a 95+ loss season are a complete waste.
  15. Yes, and the example I'm giving of what they should be doing is that they should be using the last 5 or 6 weeks of a lost season to evaluate potential future pieces.
  16. 1) Do you know who our manager is? Schaefer will play 30% of the time, or more. 2) Because 1 guy (Walker) at least has a chance to be part of the next winning team. The other guy has none. The last few weeks of a 95 plus loss season should be used to evaluate possible future pieces, not guys like Schaefer, Dean, Albers, O'Rourke, etc.
  17. Caring about the win loss records of the affiliates over the development of future MLB players is part of how they became the worst organization in baseball in the first place. How it will affect Rochester's win loss record should not even be a consideration when making a move. Not only that, but Rochester is too far out to have a realistic shot at a wild card spot.
  18. Help is only a phone call away if Rosario got hurt. He is young enough to play every game from here on out, and Kepler can play a few innings in cf to finish a game in an emergency, if needed. As could Eddie Escobar.
  19. This is just the Twins being the Twins. Jack Goin, if you are reading this, you asked for specific examples of organizational moves that we want overhauled, here is a shining example.
  20. I agree with Brock regarding Dozier. I rip this club much more than I praise them, but I like to think I'm playing it down the middle and my ratio is a reflection of what this organization has been doing. Brian Dozier is a great success for this organization. The guy is a mid round draft pick who was unremarkable in the minors. He is a legit top 10, probably top 5 at his position. The organization needs a total overhaul, but that doesn't mean they've never gotten something right. And perfection shouldn't be standard bearer for success. It's almost like some think the Twins screwed up Dozier because he's not perfect.
  21. Another nail in the coffin is how the Twins have played since Mollie called the team meeting. This shows one (or maybe a mix of both) of two things. 1) Team meetings have no effect, and the embarrassing effort is just a coincidence. If this is the case, then Mollie having played 20 years in this league should know better. Or 2) They can work, but Mollie has lost the team. Neither scenario is good news for Mollie, IMO.
  22. 140+ innings are plenty, as far as being able to jump to around 200 next season.
  23. Trading Meyer for Nolasco salary relief when they could have just released him and ate the salary instead. After all, we always hear that money has never been an issue.
  24. If that idea is long gone, then why are they overhauling Santiago and Berrios mechanics, mid season, in order to reduce their walk rates? Pitching to contact is alive and well in these parts.
  25. Forget zeroes, throw up some 1's or 2's for a start.
