  1. Frank Viola had an ERA over 5.00 for the first couple of years before he figured it out. The Twins could be looking at some really, really lean years of these young pitchers taking their lumps. In a way, the line-up seems almost irrelevant.
  2. "Wallner has been the Twins' SECOND BEST hitter over the last 2 seasons". Sit down and meditate upon that for a moment.
  3. They keep trotting Kriske out there who now has an ERA over 11.00. Someone should put a stop to this for humanitarian reasons if nothing else. Children could be permanently scarred watching this stuff.
  4. The Twins are merely returning to their Washington Senator roots: "First in war, first in peace, and last in the American League". Let it happen.
  5. I wonder if trying Keaschall in the outfield might be a good move. He's looked pretty shaky at 2B, and not sure what his arm is like in the OF, but he's athletic and puts his bat on the ball. Keaschall in LF and Jenkins in RF and Culpepper at 2B might make them bearable to watch.
  6. The Twins are in a desperate "throw spaghetti at the wall and see if it sticks" mode. So yes, Roden, who has shown nothing at the ML level, is a small strand of spaghetti to lob out there. That's the current Twins' version of a "bright spot". Get your 2026 season tickets as soon as you can.
  7. Maybe part of the goal is to make Lopez and Ryan BEG to be traded.
  8. I don't care if Jenkins is still spitting up into a bib in his highchair, I'd rather see him develop as a player in the Twins outfield than watch any more Wallner- Larnach futility.
  9. It's pretty hard to think of the Twins and "rotation depth". They're struggling to fill out a 5 man rotation with pitchers who can be counted on to maybe get to the 5th inning, and keep their ERA's under 6.00. Festa is another guy probably not strong enough to be a starter, considering the stuff and the velocity pitchers are expected to have today.
  10. The Twins are now one of the worst teams in Major League Baseball, and I don't think Falvey-Baldelli know what it is they're trying to do. Most likely it's simply managing the operation to a budgetary figure, rather than to any kind of performance standard. They are a AAAA development team.
  11. Find a starter named Cain, and get biblical on ML opponents!
  12. I hope they don't give up on Royce Lewis. The good hitting Royce still lurks in there somewhere. He often lunges and looks off balance at the plate, so something is definitely out of whack. It kind of reminds me of the bad times of early Buxton.
  13. I'd like to believe this is about as embarrassing as it can get, but no - I think it can get worse.
  14. One of the few positives is that Rocco apparently has figured out that they need to play more aggressively on the base paths. But it took until August.
  15. I'm still optimistic about Lee. He doesn't have the greatest agility, but the Twins knew that when they drafted him. Cal Ripken wasn't exactly Ozzie Smith, but he did alright. Lee looks very smooth at SS, and will get better as a hitter. As for Miranda, he suffered a very serious HBP to the helmet just as he seemed to be taking off as a hitter. It seems to have effected him ever since. These incidents still seem to be viewed more from a 1950's perspective than a modern view in a lot of cases.
  16. Rod Carew stole home 7 times with Billy Martin as manager in 1969. Good managers have a way of motivating even Hall of Fame players like Carew to attack the other team in new ways. Baldelli's idea of challenging a player is to make them play 5 positions. I just think they could do better on the field level in playing aggressive, focused baseball. If Joe Pohlad is serious about this, he needs to find a GM who is better at finding talent, and a manager who is better at lighting fires under players.
  17. In 2026, Tait would be at the top on my list because I would be pulling these guys off the prospect list and up to the ML team as fast as possible. Keaschall to the outfield along with Jenkins, and Culpepper at 2B gives the Twins more desperately needed all around baseball players with bat to ball skills. That leaves Tait as the clear #1.
  18. Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, with Rocco Baldelli as Richard Baseballhart. Explains the presence of the players who can drive this baby to the bottom.
  19. It'd be appropriate for the fans to request that they start showing a disaster or horror movie after the game - The Poseidon Adventure, The Hindenburg, Apocalypse Now, The Shining, The Exorcist - all kind of go with the general theme.
  20. The families of the great Twins players of the past with statues at Target Field have requested that bags be placed over the heads of the likenesses until further notice.
