    Even the color commentary is just so bad by Morneau. You can't imagine what it must be like to have a bad night at the plate and then have another shot at the dish? Really? You never encountered that in your 15 seasons?

    They have a strong pen up and down. It's a luxury to be able to use a great arm in such a niche way.

    That's not really new age analytics thing. Defensive indifference bases like that have long been a thing.

    Yeah. That's true of like Clase. Ironically, the best team in the league doesn't really have a closer? The Dodgers? Treinen probably their best arm and he's used all over the place.

    I think that's incredibly foolish. If he's as big of a headcase as you're making him out to be he should be traded yesterday. I don't put any significance in saves since a 3 run lead isn't exactly high leverage. I assume he's the save leader on the team but I couldn't tell you how many anyone has. Never look at it. But he doesn't seem to be significantly worse in medium or low leverage situations so I don't even know if the problem you're supposing is even true.

    I would too actually. But more because I think next year is basically lost and 2026 he'll be paid like 6 million. And the pohlads can't have that.

    That is no one's fault but Duran. No manager in baseball would refuse to use their best reliever outside of save situations. Anyone that ever complained about Duran coming in outside of a save situation is babying him.

    I kind of agree. If they start seeing their assets ROI dropping AND the appreciation stalling? I could see them cashing out their $1.5 billion dollar chip.

    I don't think so. Twin Cities are more enviable market ultimately than them. That would be a very short sighted relocation.

    Punto was way better on defense, but Castro better stick and more capable, or at least used, in the OF.

    No player would take a paycut for an owner that slashed payroll. This is just such an incredibly stupid proposition. Pohlads wouldn't invest it anyways. They'd just pocket it.

    Exactly. Anyone that says you can't criticize your team is being a weirdo. I'm the first to call someone out for ridiculous criticism but everyone on the team is fair game. It can both be true that Correa is the best player on the team AND that 200 million was a bad contract for cheap organization to give a player that failed multiple physicals.

    I'm not saying he's not good. But he's been paid 70 million the last couple years and is the primary reason the team couldn't add anything in the offseason. Ok, secondary after ownership. And to be honest, he's been paid 12 million per win, which is a lot. It's been pretty bad so far and not likely to get better. Sorry to be a realist.
