    As stated in the article, Twins Daily asked for this career retrospective. If you're going to discuss an evil billionaire that has gained, in part, his fortune through the failures and assistance of politics, both local and national, politics is going to be discussed. And asking for a moderator to shield your eyes from a link you willingly clicked is weird. My advice would be to just close the tab. Now, if politics comes up in a thread about the bullpen, that's another story.

    The only player on the Twins from 2018 is Buxton. And the only top 25 prospect on the team is Royce Lewis. You may as well write about what to look forward to in 2061 in the 100th season of Minnesota Twins Baseball.

    Twins are not, under any condition, paying 10 mil to a free agent bullpen arm which is what Yates and Robertson will get, minimum.

    That they keep trying to make him a starter while refusing to allow Jax another opportunity is indicative of a team that has no clue what they're doing.

    This is a very common and accepted principle. Around 2 percent inflation is a target for every educated economist. That's why inflation as a political weapon was a knowing lie during the last election, seeing as it was at 2.6%. Higher than you'd like to see, but not significantly so. However it rose again slightly to 2.9% in the last report.

    A better view of "success" for a bullpen is WPA. The Twins were 19th in baseball with the Guardians and Brewers clear best in their leagues. Caveat with WPA is it isn't predictive like FIP tries to be. But it's IMO the best descriptive stat for relievers.

    That's one of those tidbits that means nothing. Especially seeing how 20 years ago the world series winners had just been bought two years prior.

    All very fair. I'm mistaken, though we can argue how much all those teams have improved. I haven't really dug into anyone, but that comment that the Tigers have done nothing was particularly egregious.

    Steve Cohen is knowingly operating at a large loss. But I doubt he cares when the value of the Mets is exceeding those losses by significant margins. That's the dream owner for any sports fan.

    Yeah, I guess I should restate, I think it would be WISE for a new owner to fire him. Not that they will.

    I don't know about that. Remind me, how many ALCS appearances have the Twins had since 1992? 95 win seasons? Who can argue with those results? He's built...um...well...

    Adding one AAA catcher is not what I would call stockpiling.

    I don't know if I agree with that...but to add to this, the Twins Cities are a very good market. The Pohlads have spread this propaganda that it's a small, undesirable market since 2000 when the patriarch was trying to kill the franchise. And propaganda works. There's a good chance the incoming owner cans him (and for good cause).

    Remember when he went to the front office with a list of names that could help out the Twins at the trade deadline? I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in that meeting.

    I always thought Bill was an academy award winner for 12 Years A Slave, but I guess only the primary production company gets that designation? Either way, co-finacing that had to have made that company a pretty good return.

    Honestly, I don't get the Baldelli defenders on this site. We all mostly agree managers don't really have THAT big an impact. But we also know he's overseen multiple late season meltdowns and holds a 3-8 post season record. And he pinch hit Margot HOW many times last season? He's completely unremarkable.

    What are you talking about? The Tigers are the only team in the AL Central that HAVE done anything to improve. Not to mention they were already better than the Twins and lost basically no one in the off-season.

    Never read the man's work. And I'm guessing neither have you. But he seems smart based on this. What does the long time owner of the Twins have to do with the Twins? Idk man, you got me. Bill directed a pretty decent Biopic, so that's cool. You'll not see me defending their moral character. They, like the loser pohlad family, and many other billionaires, inherited their businesses from their daddy. No evidence they're smart or special. All these ruling class idiots are no better or smarter than anyone on this website. Even the richest man in the world has proven he's actually an evil idiot. But the one brother likes baseball, so hopefully he just blows it on that instead of some stupid Superyacht.
