  1. While this sentiment is true, for like 30% of the country, it's not because it's warranted. Rather due to evil people lying in order to gain power and/or money. Ask 70% of the country and fear mongering about Chicago doesn't work as some dog whistle. People love Chicago. I love Chicago! And of course Montana is different than Chicago. Nearly 10x more people live in Chicagoland than all of Montana. Neither lifestyle is inherently better, but they're drastically different for obvious reasons.
  2. This sort of fan behavior towards a Twins CF has already proven wrong. Puckett was such a good dude...and then we learned that was all fake. Even Torii, seemingly super nice dude...until he exposed his bigotries. Buxton MIGHT be a great dude. But we have no idea.
  3. Whoa whoa whoa. What about superstar addition Margot? Have you already forgotten him?!
  4. Articles like this, celebrating good as if it's great are due to the Twins Organization loser mentality that has permeated much of the fan base. And doing so is how ownership has been able to only bother to strive for good, not great, for 40 years. I'm happy for Buxton that he almost had a somewhat healthy good year. But I'm not celebrating him. And neither should anyone else if we're being honest.
  5. No team was nearly as bad, ever, as the White Sox. So let's not try to play false equivalence.
  6. The Royals and Tigers are also very mediocre, but the Tigers vibes are so strong and they have a legit ace, so they might be able to make a little bit of noise. We'll find out!
  7. Yes. All 13 games against the White Sox were between April 22 and Aug 4 which helped propel them to a 55-35 over that span.
  8. You think HE'D remember that is the point.
  9. The core's ready! Add that to that of Miranda, Julien, Martin, Lee, and Kiriloff and we have...0.8 WAR...that can't be right... Oh dear.
  10. He's less young than he is immature.
  11. Can you imagine how tired he'd be if he was playing postseason baseball? Good thing the twins are done soon. But it's not his fault, he famously doesn't slump.
  12. He missed the first half the season. Jesus he's a diva.
  13. I don't take their word seriously. Pitchers can pitch three days in a row if needed. Rocco didn't think it was needed, cause he'd given up. But we all had so, makes sense.
  14. We were guessing. And the there was actual reporting. And now I'm guessing again. This is fun. This is supposed to be fun.
  15. Who cares? In June, sure. If you've given up? Sure. But if you're claiming to try to win the game, that's irrelevant.
  16. This just tells me you don't know anything about their team. Whats is incredible is they became just the second team to successfully utilize openers as a pitching strategy. Pretty cool if we're being honest.
  17. Sorry to tell it like it is. Unless something drastic is done, attendance will fall. I can lie if you'd prefer. This incompetent organization was expecting a rise in attendance after '23 and anyone paying attention knew that wasn't gonna happen. Came about 300,000 people short of projected, which has to be at least $15 million in game day revenue. And probably another $15 million next season. Thank goodness they right sized by $30 million to save money!
  18. Baltimore got a new ownership group, right? How are they viewed?
  19. If you think the 2024 Twins are a Good Team and that this is a Great Season from Buxton, I think we see the divergence. The Twins organization has, in the entirety of the Pohlad ownership, done nothing more than strive for mediocrity. (Why spend money to try to win 95 games when 87 can win the AL Central and earn a healthy profit?) And they have been rewarded more than appropriately.
  20. Effectively two owners in it's history and both were wicked men. Twins fans deserve so much better.
  21. Based on recent attendance, you can probably get a couple!
  22. People say these types of things, but they aren't actually true. Sure, you have SOME players that are good enough to be played every day, and in a set position, but the best teams in the league will still move their players around the diamond. The Phillies do it, the Dodgers do it. Excluding catchers, how many of their top ten position players (by games played) played 5 or more games away from their "primary" position: Phillies - 7 Dodgers - 6 Yankees - 5 (but mainly OF swaps) Guardians - 5 Astros - 5 Twins - 5

  24. They were scrap heaps, and two of them turned out being useless, but two were very effective and important. Ironically it was not the two I expected!
