  1. That is no one's fault but Duran. No manager in baseball would refuse to use their best reliever outside of save situations. Anyone that ever complained about Duran coming in outside of a save situation is babying him.
  2. Too little too late from him. Should have been showing this urgency weeks ago.
  3. I kind of agree. If they start seeing their assets ROI dropping AND the appreciation stalling? I could see them cashing out their $1.5 billion dollar chip.
  4. I don't think so. Twin Cities are more enviable market ultimately than them. That would be a very short sighted relocation.
  5. Punto was way better on defense, but Castro better stick and more capable, or at least used, in the OF.
  6. Mornuea sucks at color commentary.
  7. No player would take a paycut for an owner that slashed payroll. This is just such an incredibly stupid proposition. Pohlads wouldn't invest it anyways. They'd just pocket it.
  8. Front office set him up for failure.
  9. Exactly. Anyone that says you can't criticize your team is being a weirdo. I'm the first to call someone out for ridiculous criticism but everyone on the team is fair game. It can both be true that Correa is the best player on the team AND that 200 million was a bad contract for cheap organization to give a player that failed multiple physicals.
  10. I'm not saying he's not good. But he's been paid 70 million the last couple years and is the primary reason the team couldn't add anything in the offseason. Ok, secondary after ownership. And to be honest, he's been paid 12 million per win, which is a lot. It's been pretty bad so far and not likely to get better. Sorry to be a realist.
  11. Or went to the game. Which...they understandably didn't.
  12. Correa deal was bad, but not disastrous yet. 4 years 130 mil left though. It's going to just get worse and worse now that the Twins window has slammed shut.
  13. Almost every single pitcher in the league would love to have Moyers career. Throwing under 95 doesn't make you bad.
  14. About the all star break to be exact...
  15. He's been about 6.5 runs below average on the bases as a Twin. Not good!
  16. Have you never worked for a crappy boss? If the guy writing the checks doesn't care you shouldn't either. Even entertaining this ridiculous idea is so dumb. There's no cap in baseball. If the owners wanted to spend money there's nothing stopping them.
  17. The owners don't love the team that much. He shouldn't.
  18. Does it? Same as Kiriloff, I think they're just not very good.
  19. I text my buddy this back on July 8th. This was never not the case. This team was just exceptional and beating the bad teams they were supposed to beat. They were 1-16 against what you would classify as "good" teams at that time. The Twins were always a mirage.
  20. I was hoping they were going to riot and force a forfeit. Imagine being a billionaire, like Fisher and the Pohlads, and caring more about a made up number on a financial statement that doesn't improve your life one bit instead of actually trying to help others. I wish I believed in hell so I could imagine eternal suffering for people like them, but at least their legacy will be one of absolute hatred. As it should be.
  21. Way more people agree with you than they care to admit. No one watched the Rangers vs the Diamondbacks. But at least the Rangers won 90.
  22. Fun Fact: Inter-league record isn't the most telling metric of success, but it is quasi balanced, and I think tells an interesting story. Playoff "contenders": Braves 29-14 Brewers 31-15 Dodgers 30-16 Padres 27-19 Phillies 26-20 ------------ Guardians 24-22 Mets 24-22 Diamondbacks 24-22 Yankees 22-21 Royals 21-21 Astros 22-24 Tigers 22-24 -------------- Orioles 20-26 Twins 18-27 First, the NL is so much better than the AL. And The Twins really aren't good. The got all their wins in the two worst division (54-31) and shat the bed against the far superior ALE and NL (28-45).
  23. Well, that just ain't even close to true. The Nats aren't even the worst team in their own division.
  24. With Pablo's raise, it's now $74m on 3. So that leaves $60 million for 23 players now. Now we look at Willi Castro, Ryan Jeffers, and Chris Paddack raises ($17.5m) and we're down to about $40m for 20 players. So before we're even considering the raises of our bullpen guys, we're looking at a max $18mil to spend in the bullpen if we're trying to stay in the $130-135 mil range.
  25. We all know the twins season is done, but I need them to win to keep pressure on the Royals. They can't go into Atlanta half assed and get swept.
