  1. Love that swing of his, especially the quiet hands. As far as the injury concern, if we can tolerate Royce Lewis and his oft injured body, why not bring this guy up and see what fun we can have while it lasts lol.
  2. Kind of feels like this article would hit differently if the Twins had started 6-10 but at least Tom seems to be trying. That's nice short term and the team is winning, so yay. As salty as I was about them in the offseason, I have really enjoyed watching them so far. Again, winning while generally playing decent ball surely helps this current sentiment. Taking a long haul approach, the looming labor dispute could change a lot of things. If that is somehow avoided then what the Twins do with payroll moving forward will tell me all I need to know about how they are planning to run the team in the future.
  3. Glad to see Brooks break through today after a horrid throwing error yesterday and tough start to the season at the plate. And didn't he have another questionable play too? Regardless, it seemed like there was some mounting pressure that was released with that game winning hit today. Good for him.
  4. Well, allow me to introduce you to the Minnesota Twins, friend... ;>) Now that spring training has started, I'm craving baseball again. I don't think the Twins did nearly enough over the winter to fortify the ranks at the top so I worry it'll be tough to dig out of an early season hole again.
  5. Love that TK was at Shelton's opening presser and love even more Shelton listened to and was inspired by him. There is nothing worse to me than seeing a MLB team make a slew of errors in any given game. Just one of the areas the Twins needed to improve. Ok and after reading tarheelstwinsfan post above, I'm officially wanting to get down to ST one of these years very soon!
  6. That is a loaded question... unlike our bullpen unfortunately. Really concerned about depth and talent with this crew. I like the Rogers addition but don't think it'll be enough to keep leads late in games. Can't wait to bust out the pine tar soap in the shower on Thursday cuz it smells like beisbol season peeps!
  7. Gonna just scalp tix as usual when I go. Third base five rows from field tix after the first inning were had for $20 a piece last year depending on the opponent and pitching matchup. Would be going for the ballpark ambiance, not likely for the field product anyway. Honestly at this point I'd go just to hammer a couple of the Bahn Mi brats from the Union Hmong Kitchen. So damn tasty!
  8. The only way I'll ever believe anything the Pohlads/ownership group say is when they put their money where their mouths are and increase payroll to field a respectable team. It also doesn't help that they appear to be cycling through bargain basement managers and front office bobos to find someone that happens to be lightning in a bottle, likely only to turn to us fans and say: "See? All we had to be was patient for several decades and it would work out." Quite frankly, it's insulting. And please note, I'm not asking to spend like we're the Dodgers or Mets here, something near $200 mil a year range that is properly managed would be encouraging.
  9. Well how else are the owners going to make money... RSN TV contracts? I'll see myself out.
  10. This is exactly how I see many games playing out this season.
  11. My God that was depressing to read at times. A great list for sure, but as I kept scrolling, and scrolling, and then finally got to question 24 all I could think was holy hell this franchise is a bigger mess than I thought when laid out on paper like that... I echo what a few others say in being really worried about the bullpen after not really adding much (any?). I feel like this might lead to a lot of good starts through 6 innings by the rotation where we're up by a run or two and then we end up losing by four once the pen gets involved. One happy thing however- it brightened my day to read only 24 more days until spring training!
  12. Haha right?! But what else are we supposed to talk about, all the high impact offseason acquisitions the Twins have made? 🫠
  13. Ok, so this tells me that at least one member of the Pohlad family isn't totally tone deaf to at least some of the outside perception of their ownership... or that the minority owners have told them as such. And that's I guess nice to hear as opposed to what we've been hearing from the other brother from the same mother over the last few years. That being said, lip service is just that: time to put their money where their mouths are because that's generally how baseball works these days. I'll give them a year or so to figure it out, but with a possible lock out coming in '27 it may bleed into several years beyond before we see much improvement. Time will tell, and the team on the field will be the barometer.
  14. Seems to be a very Twins-like signing. Not flashy, but ok. Fills a need. Probably not very spendy. I bet he's a good clubhouse guy. /shrugs
  15. This may actually be less of a farce than you think Stu lol.
  16. Good lord I admit to not paying much attention as the season fizzled away, but I didn't realize that at this point we're going to pencil him in as a starting 1B??? I like him overall, he seems like a Nick Punto-molded kind of guy but would absolutely prefer him in a utility role given his age and lack of sustained history at this point. I believe that's likely more on the Twins as an organization putting him there than on him though.
  17. I still can't help but think with a lock out looming in 2027 the Twins really just hired a place holder for the upcoming year anyway. I feel like that pending lockout is going to absolutely kill MLB to a certain degree and the Twins are simply biding their time until another more prosperous opportunity to sell the team emerges. Also, still waiting on who the new minority owners are and how they're going to be brought into the fold... or did I miss something?
  18. Jeffers is the John Cena of the Twins, there really wasn't anyone in that third place spot 🙃
  19. I don't think any of us are celebrating, my dude. This whole organization is in shambles with zero signs of improvement any time soon. I'm not even sure we've hit rock bottom yet. I'm just choosing sarcasm as a blanket of protection.
  20. Lol Falvey will probably be acting as coach next year in order to save more money and the payroll will still be reduced to the sub $75 mil range. Now tell me Falvey will be shown the door and I'll be interested again. Regardless, who in their right mind would want to coach here now anyway?
