  1. Awesome! Thank you. And Happy Birthday!
  2. Concur. I’ve kept my M cap only because I associate it with the 1987 and 1991 teams, but I only wear my TC cap. Agree about the uniforms, though.
  3. It's certainly true that some managers meld with some teams and not with others (young players, veterans, etc.) And Kelly kind of "lost it" as he got older and impatient.
  4. His teams were fundamentally sound. You'll admit that?
  5. As I mentioned last year at this time, Schulz was from the Twin Cities.
  6. Someone on the radio (Gladden?) couldn't help exclaiming "Aw, come on." to that.
  7. Yeah, today was supposed to be my WFH day, but I had committed to go into work. Now, I’m glad I just listened to parts of the game through MLB audio. So I don’t even know what Polanco’s horrible error was.
  8. Yes, I was thinking that was the main attraction. And then all of baseball will appreciate our Twins.
  9. The MLB Game of the Week guys talked about the Squirrel late in the game tonight. They were suggesting that he may have died over the cold MInnesota winter.
  10. I became a baseball fan when my brother was rooting for the Twins in ‘67. Even then, I realized that I had stumbled in to the best pennant race of all time. Of course, my ten-year old self was disappointed in the result. When we played the Cardinals in 1987, I felt it was the World Series I had waited 20 years to see.
  11. Great to meet you, Joey! I’ve rooted from afar for the Twins since 1967, and Tony-O was my favorite.
  12. This Scoreboard Watch thread was a good idea. Thanks!
  13. Always happy when Cave is appreciated around here.
  14. I did it. Just tuned in when Cabrera swung the bat...Sorry.
  15. Was at Wrigley late in 2016, their big year. But, being an American League fan, I was ignorant of Cubbie traditions, like the W flag and the “Go Cubs Go.” That stuff was charming. But I had to learn not to ask for sauerkraut for a hot dog. Only onions, apparently.
  16. Fenway has been renovated (I’ve visited both incarnations). Didn’t get that sense at Wrigley. I made pilgrimages to both ballparks.
  17. OK, we’ll take it. Thanks for the call.
  18. My good friend has been a White Sox fan for about 60 years. Since he is my tennis partner, I see him frequently. We manage to root civilly for each other, and he’s been explaining for these past few years how they are rebuilding. Our friendship survives because we have this strange thing in common: we’ve rooted for decades for these out-of-town teams without ever having lived anywhere near where our team played. Still, I’m jealous because now it looks like they did everything right.
  19. Pretry common problem, I think, for pitchers not working regularly. They were saying that all along on the White Sox broadcast (Steve Stone, I think?). I also just recently read Jim Brosnan’s book The Long Season, and he mentions blister problems.
