  1. Compare these two lineups tonight. Are we even in the same league?
  2. Absolutely!! We also spend a couple nights. First row seats behind visiting dugout for $18. 11 family members going. I go down at least twice every year. Staying at the Fairfield Inn & Suites. About $175 a night. Drive is short and sweet also. Can't recommend enough. You might even be behind a player or two at the concession stand! Lol
  3. I am a lifelong Twins fan all the way back to the Herb Carneal days. Killebrew, Oliva. Tovar, Carew etc. Didn't go to a game last year, first year ever, but was kind of excited to go to a few games this year. Not so sure that is going to happen with this team and management. I did buy tickets for the Kernels coming up. I might just make that a monthly trip.
  4. This is when we should be glad DISH took Bally Sports away.
  5. At least we didn't K 15 times. Kept it at 14.
  6. As I said earlier this week, Gallo would be king in this lineup. Another HR today.
  7. There CANNOT be a more inept lineup in the majors than the Minnesota Twins. Give me the Oakland A's for ******* sake!!
  8. Announcers have to smooch A or they will get fired.
  9. Looks like Lewis is on track to be a 15 year vet (if he can still walk in 10 years), with 500 career AB's. Not much of an "asset". Time to find a trade partner when he is completely?? healthy. Looks like a career chronic IL guy.
  10. Have to realize also we were facing Cy Singer and Cy Junis. Seriously though, yes I think it's going to be a lean offensive year.
  11. Hopefully we play KC until the end of April and we will be fine. Lewis has to be the most frustrating Twins player this side of Buxton. Lewis is making Buxton almost look like an example of health and fitness.
  12. But according to some he's a great asset! Just like my '65 Mustang in the shed without an engine. But she sure is purty!!
  13. This proves players and trainers should be working towards bodies like Wilbur Wood, Mickey Lolich, Harmon Killebrew, David Wells etc. Get some FAT on those bones!
  14. He's not much of an asset if he is going to be out 6-8 weeks or even a full year every time he gets hurt, which is constantly. If he could play 140+ games a year, yes, tremendous asset. He is almost bordering the Buxton history now. I can accept a week off but not 6-8 weeks or more every time he gets hurt. That's almost 1/3 of the season. He is either very unlucky, or very injury prone.
  15. I am with you. Weeks ago I said we added to the bull pen with reclamation projects and cast offs. Now we don't even have that. We needed to sign at least 1 big time bullpen arm and a number 1 or 2 starter. Not optimistic in this pitching staff so far.
  16. Looks like Louie was "working on a few things" today. No need to worry. 😉
  17. You make a good point, however Wallner is still a borderline MLB talent. He is definitely not exempt from finding himself in the minors.
  18. I'm sorry, but you and I must be watching two different Wallners.
  19. I agree 100%. We have a bullpen of reclamation projects and guys other teams were willing to get rid of. Don't know where all the thoughts of a shutdown bullpen are coming from! This year is no different than any other year. Pick up a rehab guy here, trade for this mediocre guy there, and hope other guys are ready to take the next step. This team has a history of questionable bullpen, and I don't see any difference this year.
  20. I guess I am missing something. We have Duran, Jax and possibly Stewart. Then we have Jackson, Okert, Funderburk, Thielbar, Topa, Alcala, Winder, and Varland. The first 3 are solid, after that we have washed up, unproven, and prospect. FAR from a reliable, solid bull pen. We added noone of substance or high quality. Where is the improvement?
  21. Who knows? Maybe they signed him for late inning speed. He would have been tied for fourth in SB on the team last year with 6.
  22. You all might think I'm crazy, but if you play fantasy baseball it helps you get a feel for almost every player in the majors. DeSclafani has been a fringe player in fantasy, and that's exactly what he is in real life. "Major League Ready" made the comment that he might be able to stay around the 4.00 era range. I agree with that. He is about a 50/50 chance pitcher to give you a quality start. Not bad for a #5 starter or depth starter. I def don't hate the pickup.
  23. What I am saying is if we could trade for a legit #2 starter, we could make Ryan, Paddack and Ober 3,4,5. Varland and Winder in the wings. It would make our rotation pretty good!
