I am intrigued by Winokur as well. I think Winokur starts next season in St. Paul. Incidentally, the article showed both Winokur and Houston playing SS yesterday, so he might not of played there. I'm starting to wonder if Tait might be the Twins first baseman of the future; perhaps in 2028; more likely 2029.

5 Questions Walker Jenkins Must Answer in September
Jeff K replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Just staying healthy is the big goal. I expect Jenkins to be the primary CF out of spring training. Buck in a corner outfield spot sense makes better sense for staying on the field. -
Twins Promote Ben Ross, Garrett Acton As Rosters Expand
Jeff K replied to Steve Drumwright's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
I feel badly for Fedko getting released while he recovers from surgery. He will likely have a difficult time catching on with another team anytime soon...if ever. that said, he had no major league future with the Twins. -
Minnesota Twins Prospect Retrospective: Ben Ross
Jeff K replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Although I was hoping to see Emanuel Rodriguez, this move does make sense. Kreidler isn't hitting and the infield could use some depth. The Twins are still acting like they have a chance to make the playoffs which is not a bad thing. -
I think I read that Fedko was released either yesterday or today. I would have thought the 60 Day dl.

Envisioning the 2027 Twins Starting Lineup
Jeff K replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Hopefully, Buck is able to solve his hip problems this off-season. I would move him to LF as his primary position and back-up CF.- 165 replies

Is This The End For Trevor Larnach?
Jeff K replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Larnach's first half of the season's performance was fool's gold. If the Twins want to be legit, they have to be more athletic which, hopefully, (Keaschall the exception) improves the defense. Keeping Larnach this year maybe was a mistake, but it is certainly a mistake to keep him next year. Non tender and don't look back.- 29 replies

Josh Bell Is Derek Falvey’s Parting Gift to the Twins
Jeff K replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Meatloaf sang that 2 out of 3 ain't bad. Well, at best, Falvey's offseason was 1 good performance, 1 mediocre (generously) performance and 1 poor performance. Bell has truly helped the team, but not in the field which has contributed to the lack of flexibility at the DH position. -
With our last fan rankings, I left Quentin Young off...and it was an easy call. He is not a legit prospect.

It's pretty difficult to not be excited about how well the top prospects are performing.

3 Starting Pitchers the Twins Could Turn to Down the Stretch
Jeff K replied to Cody Christie's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
Obviously Ryan returning and doing so to good form is the best hope. That said, with the signifcant improvements to the bullpen, I think the team could do fine with a few purposeful 3 inning starts by Rojas and Prielipp.- 41 replies

Week in Review: The Dream Is Fading
Jeff K replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
It was more fun than expected; but it is 100% time to Bring up Jenkins, Rojas and possibly others. I did not watch yesterday's game, but I see that Martin had to leave it from some kind of injury. If he goes on the DL, there is no further reason to hold back Jenkins. And no, I don't care about service time and the 40 man roster. Bring him up and let's give him a taste of the major leagues. -
Phillies 7, Twins 1: Fielding Nightmares Doom Twins
Jeff K replied to Sam Caulder's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
That game was not enjoyable to watch. Taj was terrible. I get that Keaschall's play in the outfield did not make the difference, but so what. It was an embarrassment. As others have noted, how can an excellent athlete be so bad in the field? I've been a fan of his, but good grief, he truly is starting to look like Julien.- 97 replies

And I am hopeful he gets a chance with the Twins. But I believe that Walker Jenkins is a better choice to go up and help the team. He certainly should help defensively and hopefully offensively. Mid to late August is a tough time to come up for Emma and his strikeout rate. Unless there is an injury, or both Martin and Roden fail; I don't see Emma coming up until maybe the small roster expansion in September.

Twins Minor League Report (8/12): Carson Tinney Calls Game
Jeff K replied to Matt Braun's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Brandon Winokur oozes potential. That home run cleared the fence by a lot and it didn't look like he even caught the pitch flush.- 11 replies
