Congratulations to Sabato making it to the show, even if for a cup of coffee. It's hard to picture him on the team next season, but at least he made it this year.

Royce at 2nd base makes some sense, but consider this: Who plays first base next year? Clemens? I think he is better suited as a utility player? Trading Royce; what do you get? His trade value can't be good. Could the Twins get a serviceable/solid relief pitcher? If yes...I would do it.

Very well said. I pretty much agree with all of it!

The Twins need athletic players across their lineup. Having a guy who can't play the field is close to unacceptable. I know there are times when that can work, but the Twins need to focus on youth and athleticism.

I fully agree with this. ERod had a very good spring training and it might have changed the course of his season by starting with the big club. Bell produced decently, but was yet another poor defender on a team desperate for more athleticism.

I think the jury is always out when promoting young players to the bigs. That said, EmRod's defense and apparent joy playing seemingly separate him from Sano. I try not to be a hater, but I was pretty close to that with Sano. He just didn't seem to give a damn as evidenced by his playing out of shape.

Youth and improved athleticism should give all Twins pitchers hope for improving their chances.

With Ben Ross called up, it would have been interesting to see Houston spend a few days at AAA.

I agree with your reasoning. With that in mind, the Twins could have a very interesting starting rotation next year and with good depth. Teams can go far with excellent starting pitching and you don't have to squint too hard to see the Twins with good to excellent starters. While the bullpen improved, the Twins will need greater depth and improved options for the 8th and 9th innings to go far...and of course, the everyday lineup needs addressing. But there are reasons to be hopeful. Catcher and first base especially need to be upgraded for 2027. I sure hope the Twins make a qualifying offer to Jeffers...although he is unlikely to take it.

Isn't that the truth. I love the guy and am sorry he just can't stay healthy for extended periods. The sun shone brightly in 2025 and April/May/June of this year. Sigh.

Really nice seeing Houston and Winokur ending the season on a high note. I'm looking forward to seeing both in St. Paul next season.

It was my understanding that the primary basis of his latest injury was from swinging the bat and it was an issue years in developing. I think Byron should be option 2 or 3 in CF and option 1 in RF. He should also DH plenty next year. I don't think he is in the way of any of Keaschall, Emma or Jenkins as there are plenty of AB's for 4 outfielders even when all are healthy. I will say that first base is unresolved and that could be a future home for Keaschall.

So happy for Emanuel. Pablo is seemingly an amazing person. With the team all season doing what he can. And he is great as translator for his teammates. I hope he comes back next season and experiences great success.

Joe Mauer is a first ballot hall of famer. you must be really good at whatever you do to have such high requirements for players.

"Do you just like beards" adds zero value to the conversation is mean for no good reason. But I suspect you don't care. Go for it!

Are you just begging for clicks?

    2 earned.

I thought Erod should have made the team out of spring training.

Yesterday's game is further proof (as though it was needed), that the Twins must improve their defense and overall athleticism.
  20. Jeff K
Hopefully he starts next season in st. Paul.

Keaschall making an athletic play in RF is oh so encouraging. I still feel like he can become a solid corner outfielder. And the man can flat out hit. I love Keaschall and Culpepper at the top of the order. A lot! Actually, a whole lot!

Good to see Houston on an upswing at the end of the season. And Lackey continues to impress. I am looking forward to their further progress next season as they move through the minors.
  23. Jeff K
How dare you bringing facts to the conversation!
  24. Jeff K
When you compare his fielding to Lee at SS you get closer to the pin! Massive upgrade.
  25. Jeff K
I could not agree with you more! The team has to commit to the youngsters with promise.
