  1. It seems like the Twins, more often than not, go with incumbency vs. performance. I know, I know, it's a broad statement, but it's based on how it feels. I am very happy that Abel won the starting position. As others have stated, I'd like to see Emma and Gabriel playing for the big club. Perhaps Larnach starts the year on the DL.
  2. I am so glad that Emma appears to be ready. The Twins need to let the young guys play in the bigs. That includes Gabriel Gonzalez who never seems to get enough attention.
  3. I haven't looked at who would enter the top 20, but I would remove Raya. He was terrible last year and terrible in spring training. Part of my thinking for Gabriel Gonzalez is that he had a great season last year and a great spring training. I also give more credence to guys who are close to contributing with the Twins. I have him at 4th or 5th. I hope you are right about Mendez.
  4. I agree with NO for Keaschall in LF. I was at a game and he made routine catches scary.
  5. Topa should not be an automatic. His best is years ago and he has been, at best, ok with the Twins. Why keep him?
  6. I appreciate these updates. I would like to add, for me, Gabriel Gonzalez is underrated and Marco Raya is overrated.
  7. While there is cause for concern with Ober, I believe he will (and should) get a long leash to start the season. It seems unlikely that his performance will fall below the level of a 5th starter; although the Twins certainly need more than that. He does NOT seem like a good bullpen candidate as bullpens mostly depend upon flamethrowers.
  8. I think there is a reasonable chance that Wallner returns to his 23/24 performance levels. Hopefully that means his defense improves too. My one disagreement with the article is stating that Larnach can be the back up in right field. He is awful. The Twins are mesmerized by multi positional flexibility. Only a few players should be utilized in that manner. Larnach is NOT one of them.
  9. He needs to start the season with St. Paul. I really hope they don't dump him back at AA
  10. I commented on another post in more depth about his problems. To your point, his mobility is greatly diminished. The Twins have 3 position players who should only DH (Wallner, Larnach & Bell). This is a poorly constructed team.
  11. At the game on Monday and Martin was in CF. He looked confident and made a couple of nice plays including a good throw from right center field to keep the runner from advancing. Of course, Larnach was in RF which is why it was Martin who had to make the play. I can't stop taking shots at Larnach's defensive "prowess".
  12. Matthews was NOT very good yesterday. He was lit up in the first inning.
  13. I attended yesterdays game against Atlanta and in the first inning, the Braves teed off on Zebby's fastball and put up 8 runs; not all against Zebby who was removed with two outs and then returned in the 2nd inning where he was far more effective. In fairness to Zebby with 2 outs and one run in a fly ball was hit to right field where Larnach appeared to be under the influencer of Jupiter's gravity. Should have been the 3rd out. Larnach looked terrible on several other plays as well. Maybe it's the lack of familiarity with RF, but it was an unprofessional performance. Arcia played 2nd base and threw wildly home when there was no chance to get the runner. Furthermore, he had a ground ball to 3rd that he did not run out. Keaschall was in left field and with every ball hit to him he looked like a dog circling before...well you know. He made the catches, but wow. That's the bad. Keaschall looked great at the plate with a triple and a ringing double. Royce looked great at the plate and made an excellent play at 3rd. He looks ready. Gabriel Gonzales came in and continued hitting. With the exception of Royce Lewis's play at 3rd, the Twins did not resemble a major league team in the field. I'm just hoping it's because of the bizarre organizational obsession with playing players out of position.
  14. When it went down, I was insanely angry with this trade. If, if, if, if Roden comes close to his potential, then it will turn out to be a solid trade for the Twins.
  15. Of the Young outfielders, Gabriel Gonzalez seems the most ready to contribute. As has been stated so many times this winter, Larnach is in the way and Outman has proven he is not a major league player.
  16. 2026 is grim at at SS. I think that the article is bit harsh regarding Kaelen Culpepper. I like his potential to stick at SS and stay there until, hopefully, Marek Houston pushes him to 3rd.
  17. He is a very exciting prospect. Hopefully that doesn't create the injury jinx that all the Twins top prospects seem to acquire! With his stuff, I'm not sure why we don't see him earlier in AA this year.
  18. I'm unsure why he isn't even rated higher. He just might be the Twins best hitting prospect. I don't think his lack of home runs should limit his ceiling. Larnach is blocking the progress of our young outfielders and the twins should keep Wallner's glove under glass. Break only on emergency.
  19. I think it would be a poor decision to carry all 3 catchers. The infield is already weak and they need to make room on the roster for, at least, one of our young outfielders. It's still early, but Emma looks ready thus far.
  20. Raya was seriously terrible last season. Maybe he is still a prospect, but if so, he is much too high on this list.
  21. I think Martin is a solid back up for 2nd base. I wouldn't play him at SS or 3rd.
  22. Yup, I don't care. He has proven he is not a major league player. Cut him. And don't let him take up a slot with St. Paul.
