Saddest 2 days in Twins history. I get letting some of the pending free agents go for a 6-day old sandwich, and I’m not worked up about CC going, given his injury situation the last few years, but we got nothing for the guys we had under control for reasonable amounts, meaning Duran and Jax. No sure-fire prospects that we could look forward to as being a future fixture in the lineup. Some of them shouldn’t even be playing pro ball (Matt Mikulkski, I’m particularlylooking at you). So how much do the Pohlads expect to sell their minor league team for now?

When Lewis returns, I’d move Julien to 1st, drop Gallo, move Polanco back to second and put Lewis at 3rd.

Not a bad analysis, except it’s not clear where Miranda goes when Lee is ready to take third, and I don’t see how you trade Maeda before Opening Day when he hasn’t pitched in a real game in almost 2 years.

I’m just tired of them signing guys hoping to have a bounceback year. Bargain basement shopping is not a viable strategy. Every year we sign guys whose best years are way in the rear view mirror, hoping to squeeze that last piece off lightning out of the bottle. And almost always fail.

Another “catch lightning in a bottle by getting a washed up veteran” move by the Twins. Absolutely makes no sense. That money could have been spent on our other glaring needs, like a legit SP, relief pitcher or SS. Reminds me of the old saying “Don’t confuse movement with progress”.
