    3.98 ERA over 43+ innings is not a poor pitcher…..typical relief roller coaster w/bad outings and then a few decent ones. Nance? Adams will be sent down to make room. Hoffman - Minter - Rojas - Morris - Gomez - Funderburk - Rogers ……… Matthews eventually? Minter - Hoffman - Nance all are experienced, along with Rogers. That doesn’t get guys out but it helps in tight situations.

    Rutschman has underperformed with the bat - they extended their other young Catcher last year (Bassallo?) …….. Kremer was under control for next year ……. Ward is on the periphery of their core guys. I don’t think they believe Kremer can help them ……. is it a crowded staff or his cost-performance ratio or do they think he’s toast? A starter that had 4 respectable seasons in a row being traded for an 18 year old ….. it doesn’t track.

    He’s only started 7 games this year ….. 36 innings ……. can’t draw on anything positive other than his previous 4 years. …… O’s are still in Wildcard - seems with his history they would not move him for an 18 year old - right? He’s still got another year of control ……..seems they might think he’s washed?

    3 HR’s per 9 innings - 2.8 walks per 9 innings - 1.38 WHIP ……..he was hurt, only 36 innings in ‘26. Nothing here to get excited about, for sure! 🤞🤞🙏🤞 ……. previous 4 seasons, he threw 125 innings plus twice and 171 innings plus twice. ‘22 - ‘25 ERA’s of 3.23 - 4.12 - 4.10 - 4.19. He’s been rough in ‘26 but there is some reason to think this could still be a positive move, eventually. Not very confident anything in ‘26 other than an innings eater. 🤞

    How about Emma, Martin, & C.J. Culpepper & one of the ‘26 draftee arms to Miami for Sandy Alcantara? (package to Miami is just an example……..maybe it’s Wallner mixed in?) Saves Miami a bunch of $ - maybe not of interest to them? Sounds crazy! He makes $21M in ‘27. He can be bought out for $2M. He’s a frontline horse of a pitcher. Solidifies staff for ‘26! He can stay in ‘27 and make $8M more than what is owed to Ryan next year & Twins can trade Ryan for a similar prospect package that was given up for Alcantara. Nathan Eovaldi from Texas is a similar move. They definitely want to move salary. Less of an asset package to them! Robby Ray - Mize - May ……. lots of possibilities! Alcantara - Bradley - Ryan - (blend of Ober/Prielipp/etc. as 4th option in playoffs)

    Since his recall Lewis has played in 40 games. He’s hit .245 - has 7 HR - 17 RBI. I don’t think his play at 1B is mediocre. Brooks Lee, since June 6, has hit .230 - has 7 HR - 22 RBI……….he’s hit .223 in July & .240 for the season. Luke Keaschall, over 105 games Keaschall is hitting .263 - has 6 HR - 33 RBI. …..he’s done a nice job increasing his BA as he was brutal through most of first 1/3 of season. Nobody thinks Luke is winning any Gold Gloves at any time soon.

    I’ve been defending Lewis here BUT Caratini has to catch the ball…….it was a soft throw to the 1B side of the plate…….he can’t position himself at the plate to make a poor throw into a good one.

    ……& some ignore his game winning hit a few days ago and game tying HR a day or two later. ………His fielding at 1B is exciting to me ….. he’s more athletic than most guys typically seen at 1B. His interaction with flips to pitchers and grabbing short-hopped throws all seem pretty natural, IMO. He’s played maybe 40 games there between AAA & MLB. He screwed up! No reason to make stuff up about his general defensive play at 1B…….his 3B play is behind him. He lifted his atrocious BA from .165 to .215 and, agreed, that .215 number is embarrassing! However, he’s been a pretty solid contributor since his recall.

    Twins fan in Cincinnati - he’s like having Emma on the Red’s staff, relative to health. that frustrating! Twins are good going forward with Abel - Festa - Sands coming back (any ONE would be a plus) ……… Rojas - Prielipp - Matthews - Ober …… Lopez - Bradley - Ryan. IMO, less assets out for a rental like RAY or MAY or MIZE - etc. would be a better move for ‘26. Can shift Kremer or Prielipp to PEN if they land a starter…… along w/Matthews.

    3) Jeffers trade “immense” haul …… just don’t see it for 2 months. Everyone knows we are rostering 3 Catchers - kind of tempers any leverage the Twins hoped to have. 2) To me, trading Larnach is punting and then it doesn’t make sense to keep Jeffers. Already played slightly above .500 w/o Jeffers for 60 games. ……… trade Caratini (try him 1st) with another year of control ……if nobody bites, trading Jeffers is OK but I’d prefer to keep him and Larnach so the Minter & Nance & Kremer moves can be fruitful. 3) Again, to me, move Zebby to PEN 1st. Zebby - Rojas - Minter - Morris - Gomez - Nance - Funderburk - Rogers (Zebby displacing Adams seems to make sense for last 2 months) To your point, they need to use a Top 10 guy & Wallner as a potential lottery ticket. Emma would be my preference but I assume he’s lost market value………. could even blend Martin into a deal. I’d target the Giants …… Arraez as the #1 goal ……. Robby Ray as the secondary choice. Ray could fill Prielipp’s spot and he could shift to PEN where keeping innings down is more realistic. Arraez to 2B. Clemens to Corner OF. Larnach and Keaschall/Buxton DH platoon. Larnach - Buxton - Arraez - Jeffers - Clemens - Lewis - Lee - Keaschall - Kreidler v. RH starter. ………. This assumes they move Bell & Caratini. I live in Cincinnati and Caratini is way better than Stephenson(w/bat, this year)! ….. defense is a draw and Caratini’s ability to switch hit & play 1B helps a trade partner. Gotta decide tonight if they really want to be competitive! ……….. Jenkins for Roden & Culpepper for Gray ……..soon. When back at Target.

    THIS year, with a weak A.L., may be the BEST or as good of a chance Team will have for next few years, IMO. Get Bell & or Caratini or Roden or Jackson out of the way, fine……to get space and an arm or prospects. Rodriguez has averaged 53 games per year for last 4 years ……. the only one blocking him is Emma! Martin has been up and playing for 3-4 years, when he’s stayed healthy. He played in platoon with Larnach for 10 weeks - actually displaced Wallner, until his bat went cold. How in the hexx is Larnach blocking Wallner?? They are the same age & Wallner was playing RF every day with Larnach on the same roster. Wallner sucked, that’s why he’s back down in St Paul for the 3rd time in 4 years (hurt last year). If Team thought Mendez was better than Roden, he would have been promoted. Jenkins for Roden & Culpepper for Gray over next 2-3 weeks, outstanding!! Larnach IS the 2nd best hitter on the Team. He is under control next year. He’s ideal for DH….. platoon with Buxton/Keaschall. He can play defense if needed, unlike current DH. Again, Larnach IS the 2nd best hitter on roster and he too, was a highly touted, first round draft pick. Now he’s performing and people want to trade him to see IF someone else may be able to hit. No sense to that thinking:

    Bell!………for AA pitcher if needed. Combine with one or some of the following. Wallner - Caratini - Jackson - Roden - Emma …….young arms ……… infielders other than Houston & Culpepper………move some assets for immediate help! Trading Larnach, a Twins lifer - with Buxton down, just makes no sense for the offense nor the Clubhouse. I get Bell has mixed well with teammates but it’s about putting best Team on the 13-man. Displace Bell with Larnach & Keaschall/Buxton at DH. I’d be satisfied if they acquired no more pitching if they could combine some assets for Arraez. That moves Clemens to corner OF ………. Jenkins for Gray …… soon to follow, Culpepper for Roden. THAT would be a competitive Club with depth!

    Agree - 2nd best hitter, with another year of control for a rental in Abreu is not a net gain. If Abel was healthy all year would Team be competitive (2-3 more wins?) …….. if Lopez was healthy all year would Team be competitive (3-4 more wins?) …….. if Jeffers wasn’t out for 60 games would Team be more competitive (2 more wins?). If Sands wasn’t 100% all year …….maybe 1-/ more wins. Jeffers is back - can trade for a real pitcher for rotation that is either a rental like May, (less assets) or an ongoing piece like Hancock (more capital). With a real starter and either Prielipp or Matthews to the PEN. Already have strengthened PEN with Minter. Add a starter & they are a good Team now. Displace Gray with Culpepper in 10 days and it gets better/deeper. Hancock allows consideration of trading Ryan or any pitching asset in off-season for ‘27 help…….makes the assets lost to Seattle seem like a worthwhile exchange longer-term. Can trade Caratini - Bell - Wallner - Roden NOW to get one more arm or betterment for ‘27 & beyond. …….. This puts Larnach & Buxton/Keaschall in a platoon at DH. Opens spot for Jenkins in a corner spot. Winning record to date v. Yankees & Guards…..6 home games between them left on schedule. Won Season Series with Astros & Red Sox. The potential for advancement in this year’s A.L. is as high as it will get in any year going forward. FO/Ownership needs to ACT! Kremer is a 2 start band-aid ….. that’s it ……

    If Adams is blocking any PEN arm/prospect, they aren’t very good! Guys don’t get “tried out” to get MLB reps in August & September if the Team is in the race. If they are not competing for playoffs, by all means move on - that (development or satisfying fan curiosity) is not what the organization’s focus is at this point. Kreidler & Martin aren’t going anywhere. Bell - Roden - Wallner - Gray - Emma (no future options) are all up for trade. Trades to better Team this year &/or future, not to bring up fringe guys from AAA to check them out. K. Culpepper & Jenkins make sense for Gray & Roden whenever organization sees fit. Unless they drop out of the race, nobody else (prospects) will see Target field in ‘26. …. If Emma’s around, he may see the MLB in September as rosters expand….. zRsys’s got a real shot, if healthy.

    Snell - Glasnow - Ohtani will all be fine by Sept. ……. at least 2 of them will. Sheehan is capable & Lauer (3.07 ERA over last 7 starts) is another decent option.

    Matthews is a good kid - can show flashes of brilliance. He got 10 strikeouts last night against a pretty meek hitting ball club. He got a few takes and swings & misses on middle-middle pitches …… I realize all pitchers make mistakes and give up hits/runs but watching him throw the ball all over the place with mediocre sharpness on 3-4 of his 6 pitch offerings, it’s unnerving. IMO, he trims to 3-4 pitches and he’s the next Varland story in the PEN …… probably not until next year though.

Hancock - Ray (expiring deal, less assets?) - Dustin May …….. gotta have one of these 3 in their sites …….. another Twins win today & Seattle might punt?!?!

    Am hoping it was just a simple, quick move to protect Ryan in the very near-term……. can’t imagine they think they can lean on Dean Kremer for any serious contribution going forward……I like the “shopper” description!

    Red Sox - 2.5 games up White Sox - 3.0 games up Caught Guardians If all 3 Teams had 8 more wins & the spread was the same between them & the Twins, wouldn’t it make sense for Twins to add? From here on out they play who’s scheduled - a bunch with A.L. West and A.L. Central ……… that spells opportunity! Add a couple competent guys by end of Monday.

    How about Dean Kremer?? Robby Ray seems to make a bunch of sense……. there’s going to be HIGH demand with a 3.08 ERA……that will be a point of emphasis for SF. Kremer, to me, was an emergency move to allow Ryan to retroactively go on 10 day IL ….., then, Kremer & Rojas picking up a near-term start replacing Prielipp (9 day break)…… gotta get better quality prior to end of business Monday…….I’m of the thinking that adding aStarter adds to the PEN, as somebody in rotation moves to PEN. Kremer is essentially signing a Paredes type with more experience. Team does a decent job scouting and tweaking guys……doubt Kremer just got on their radar yesterday. 🙏🤞🙏🤞

    ……..just ask the Met’s fans. An additional $50M in ‘26, back to the level of 2023 would have been way more than enough to have a much better chance to win the Division. The flip side is, as of March 1st, Lopez - Festa - Abel - Sands were all in play. Nobody anticipated Jeffers missing 60 games. Emma not being available all year due to another injury was a bit of an unfortunate turn. Some, but not everyone thought Wallner would be a complete bust! Piecing things together with Parades/Rojas/Marthews/Prielipp is commendable. Clemens at 1B - RF - 2B - LF seamlessly has been a nice twist. Keaschall leaving the infield, and Royce at playing 1B are all positive moves that most wouldn’t have considered in June. The players are getting it done, not mgmt., to be clear. Tough to spend a bunch more $$ in all the right places to make sure everything that comes up in the future is covered. A couple more highly paid guys going into Spring Training should have been done, to your point.

    Understood. I might seriously consider displacing Gray though, as he REALLY isn’t getting it done. Roden/Emma/AA arm for Arraez……. any bites from the Giants?
