  1. Late stop sign by the 3rd base coach according to radio announcers. Who is the 3rd base coach anyway?
  2. Never a good sign for a young player to start the season with two DNP's - Schobel and Sabato, unless they have some minor injury.
  3. Listened on radio online. Announcers said in the 1st inning that Preilipp's limit was 65 pitches and Jenkins will only play 7 innings.
  4. Culpepper with 3 hits already.
  5. Not mentioned is Austin Martin throwing to the wrong base and allowing the eventual 2nd run to go to 2nd base. It was what most of us expected - great starting pitching, a bullpen that will blow a lead and not a lot of hitting.
  6. Look at the Saints roster now because on August 1, it won't look like this. When injuries occur, the best will head to the Twins (and Wichita isn't as impressive overall, especially on the hitters side). Plus if these Saints are playing really well, there are some guys who should be pushing out some dead weight on the Twins. Then, the Twins are likely sellers at the trade deadline. Go watch the Saints win the 1st half because they should be a shell of this team in the 2nd half.
  7. And look at that, Garrett Spain now shows up on the Wichita roster. With only 3 OF's listed and one being Mendez (who is supposedly playing a lot of 1B), he should get playing time there. Of course, some of those IF's listed also play in the OF.
  8. Yea, there is still some shuffling to be done and maybe cuts. Last week there was about 25 pitchers on the Saints roster. I still see 20 active pitchers. Fedko didn't get to the Twins last year. Good luck even getting playing time with the Saints with Jenkins, Rodriguez, Roden, and Gonzalez all playing at least 6 games a week if healthy.
  9. Remember when Margot was touted for his defense and ability to play CF. My eyes said he was bad. My views of Outman (very limited I grant you) also say he isn't great on defense anymore.
  10. Under. 68 wins.
  11. I just wish he got his injury grade up to at least 50. He probably develops more power if can at least play 6 times a week.
  12. What is the one basic thing I want from my car? To get me where I'm going. What is the one basic thing I want from my Twins radio announcer? To know what is happening in the game. The 4th-6th innings are problematic.
  13. Huge opportunity with so many players coming in trades last summer, most of whom have at least a chance to make the big leagues (not the player we got for Correa though, I forget his name). If they mostly fail, is it on Falvey or the minor league coaches? The Varland trade was the one most of us were upset about so Rojas may actually be the most important player to have success.
  14. I don't think the Twins really care about the Rookie of the Year award and the extra draft pick. They prefer the old, hold the player back deal, so they have control of the players for an extra year. This method hasn't seemed to work at all though.
  15. Almost everyone was excited that Brooks Lee dropped to the Twins. What has changed? Not his fielding. It's his bat. It's time for him to hit this year. Even though I prefer Culpepper at SS to start the year, it's obvious the Twins don't think he's ready, or they just don't believe in pushing anyone these days like they did Arraez. The Twins aren't winning that much anyway so, like others have said, let's see what we have in Lee. Side question - would Culpepper and Jenkins have to NOT be on the 40 man roster in order to play AAA at the start of 2027 IF there is a strike? That would be an interesting factor.
  16. With some teams, if the catchers show great judgment on which pitches to challenge, I think they wouldn't allow most of their pitchers to challenge.
  17. I'm higher on DeBarge than most. It's hard but if he can hit like he did in the 1st half of last season, he's great on defense and has great speed. Those last two things are what the Twins need more of. (Being he played more at 2B than SS probably does mean his bat needs to improve even more). Most everyone was thrilled when Brooks Lee was drafted by the Twins and now most people don't seem to like him after just one season in the majors. Someone like him was hit at the top levels to survive. Which is why I really like starting with great defense and speed at SS and trying to coach up the hitting. Easier said than done I know.
  18. Pierson Ohl to have Tommy John surgery. Bummer for him.
  19. He throws more than the knuckleball. With his lower fastball velocity, he probably thinks (or has been told) that he has to add a few mph to his fastball to have a chance at making it to the big leagues.
  20. The Dodgers DFA'd Fitzgerald after they claimed him. None of the other teams, including the Twins, claimed him. It's not that big of a deal to not have Fitzgerald.
  21. I think I'm the lone ranger in saying the Twins should start Culpepper at SS right away this year. The Twins aren't winning 80 games so let's play the young guys. It's not the end of the world if he struggles. Then, send him down to work on some things at AAA. So many people think if a player has a bad month to start their career, they will never make it. Many other clubs do this and their star young players turn out great.
  22. My eye test said the Twins were much better with Buxton in CF than anyone else on the team in 2025. Also, he is limited in making catches made by flying into the fence because he will get injured. Except for that, he still seemed above average to me on defense.
  23. Falvey may have completed the pitching pipeline. The trouble is we will find out in the future. If he did complete it, it took too long. But, if he indeed did, the current administration better not clog the pipeline back up.
