  1. His batting eye on those 2 walks and heads up base running turned the game tonight. The Royals had cut it to 4-2 when Arraez scored on that wild pitch and the game ended then. It completely let the air out of the Royals rally and quieted their fans. It was a thing of beauty ??
  2. Indeed it was win #5. Great game from Arraez getting on base 4 times and a lot of clutch 2 out hitting. Even saw a sac bunt!
  3. I'll be at the game tonight, the Twins have won the last 4 games I've went to. Let's make it #5.
  4. And I absolutely agree with you on that. I'm 36 years old and I grew up loving the game and many of my fondest childhood memories revolve around baseball in some way or another. I am of the fan genre that wants to keep the game as nostalgic as possible because it has such a soft spot in my memories but I understand that there do need to be changes with the way the game is played and marketed.
  5. A good example of that is last night Bally had Latroy and Dick and Audra in the booth eating Reese's peanut butter cup barbecue. Nothing more entertaining than seeing grown adults making a horrible mess on live tv. ?
  6. I actually like the 3 batter minimum rule, I hated teams changing pitchers multiple times per inning.
  7. There are other things baseball can do to keep and attract fans without completely changing the game, again I am not against pitch clocks so don't misconstrue what I am saying. Ending blackouts would go a long way to boost fan viewership for many fans, I know people in places in Iowa who have like 6 teams blacked out and where I live in Kansas blackouts prevent me from watching the Royals, Cardinals, Astros, and Rangers (but I can watch the Rockies and Twins which are closer than the Texas teams!). This goes back to my previous statement about baseball selling it's soul for TV revenue.
  8. How much time in commercials do you think exist between every half inning of baseball? I have no problem with a pitch clock, don't get me wrong. My comment on the first post was about adding a 2 minute plate appearance clock.
  9. Have you been to a game recently? There are a large amount of fans under the age of 50 at every game, I went to a game in Kansas City last month that had thousands of junior high and elementary age kids and they were loving every bit of it. I don't buy that a sport needs to undergo radical changes to peak fan interest of a certain age dynamic.
  10. In your opinion. I'm not saying that is the only reason, but a major reason. Watching a game on TV is becoming more and more tedious.
  11. Having a lefty in the rotation was nice.... for the 2 games it lasted. I have a feeling the leash on guys like Archer and Bundy will shorten so Smeltzer may be back in the rotation pretty quickly if he keeps pitching well in St. Paul.
  12. That is a big "If" and this is his second TJ surgery so I wouldn't call the trade a win in any scenario, unless the third player they received Brayan Medina turns into the next Johan Santana. Pagan is a shaky reliever at best and losing Paddack makes this a big L.
  13. The question is who do they trade and for what? They've got so many pieces contributing right now and the return has to be better than what they got from the Rogers deal.
  14. Great post. Thanks for sharing. I agree the Rogers trade looks like a L and could be one of the worst trades the Twins have made in recent memory.
  15. Pagan will get lit up like a Christmas tree. Honestly I think they have 3 or 4 relievers that will get crushed against better hitting teams.
  16. No thanks. The game is fine without people "fixing it". The biggest issue I see is baseball has sold it's soul for TV revenue, way too many commercials. But they like those advertising dollars too much to do anything about it so they've gotta make adjustments in other ways.
  17. They're kind of in a bad spot because Duran has the stuff to be a closer, but more often than not they need him to put out fires before the 9th. But I think Pagan as a closer is flirting with danger when they play better teams in a couple weeks.
  18. It seemed like every possible bounce went against the Twins last season and this year they're getting those bounces. Hopefully that continues.
  19. Sanchez has more playoff wins in Target Field than the Twins do, maybe he can share some of that knowledge. And you're correct, comparing Sano and Sanchez is as inaccurate as comparing Sano and David Ortiz.
  20. A true legend in baseball history, RIP.
  21. I think that is a fairly accurate assessment. He has a bit of a "diva" personality.
  22. I absolutely agree, dumping the Donaldson contract for ANYTHING was a win.
