  1. Santana makes that out the led to the 4th run. All day.
  2. This. What I have learned from the twins the last few years is that, I as a fan, seem far more concerned about winning than this ownership group. And that is a bummer. Add in the lack of customer centric decisions being made and I def get why the survey isn’t optimistic. id like the players to prove to me that winning is something they can do even if they don’t have the support of ownership wanting to maximize the competitive window. I'm gonna be tuning in for sure, but I am not overly optimistic about this offense and our ability to stay healthy.
  3. My concern is that this front office gives off the vibe that they wait for business to come to them as opposed to being agressive. Perhaps I am biased or have a mispercption but after a full season of nothing its hard for me to imagine anything substantial happening for these twins- very much feels like autopilot. I would be utterly shocked if Roki signed with us or if their camp is aware of interest. Many teams have been outright in stating they have met with him or are waiting to hear if there presentation will lead to a meeting. I have a hard time believing the Twins put together a pitch but hopefuly I am wrong. This FO seems to passive to land this FA.
  4. This is pathetic. Turning this garbage team off and taking my Saturday night back. Have a good night all.
  5. Yep. His bat is gonna be rusty. We need the defense right away.
  6. The ideal is to have owners who want to win a championship. That isn't the Pohlads. Their measure of success for 2024 isn't the same as the fans and suggesting a manager or front office change means we think their measure of success is a championship. It isn't. They are gonna be a happy when a profit margin is hit and they don't focus on a championship as doing so would take away from the primary goal: profit margin. The Pohlads ideal is to have a management group that wants to win but never at the expense of profit margin and hope that one day they strike gold and everything comes together. Thats why fans say "competitive window" and the Pohlad's say "right-sizing", which is a business term meaning bringing the profit margin back up. That's why we think we are a good pitcher away and they say we can't afford it. I agree that I cannot see the Pohlad's selling. Not so long as the Twins can generate a profit margin worth collecting. Do I wish for owners who wanted a championship? All day. Do I think it will change? No. Its really hard to win a championship. Its harder with a shrewd business managers. The Twins are a conservatively run business designed to generate profit. Not championships. The cold truth of the 2024 is that ownership is mostly concerned with the final profit margin for the their enterprise and management team who isn't gonna challenge that model. That means they aren't working behind the scenes on some new TV deal that is gonna be better for fans or thinking of a front office change or contemplating a better coach. Its only % above operating cost they are looking at.
  7. .500 baseball feels like a stretch with the current team. I forgive anyone feeling depressed. As fans we aspire to root for teams hitting their groove going into Playoffs- not managing .500 to eek in
  8. The game I was watching said that
  9. So much over thinking and never watching the actual play on the field. It’s driving me nuts
  10. Make sure you watch Presumed Innocent.
  11. This team looks out classed anytime they play a playoff bound team to the point they are starting to convince me they are not playoff bound.
  12. I agree this improves the under belly of the bullpen. That is useful in a season but not in playoffs. This move doesn’t help us win playoff games. I hope they tried to get playoff caliber additions for this team and are ultimately correct in the valuations of our minor league stock. From the outside it looks like trading is out of this FOs element. A lot of waiting for the market to come to them. Disappointed in the lack of urgency to bring home a championship with the current window. Very sour on ownership. but let’s go twins and prove this whole non existent deadline strategy correct and win a WS.
  13. Yea this teams blatant disregard for its fans and the honest pursuit of a championship is beyond frustrating.
  14. I believe if we tossed this team into a championship series or a World Series we would really wish for one more elite bullpen arm (that’s not on the injured list) and/or someone we could trust to hand the ball to in a game 3. Our record in the last 5-6 one run games isn’t all that good. Those seem like obvious areas and the fact that they also existed in the offseason checks the glaring box for me.
  15. I can really squint and see the fit. Seems far to expensive for this ownership group, and too expensive for the front office (if we don’t take on cash). Add in the injury history and the memory of Mahle and it seems too big of a risk for the price.
  16. No. In order to win a World Series we need a few area that are elite. Jax gives us the best chance to have an elite bullpen and moving him creates problems to solve.
  17. Unfortunately, they should release him. the goal is to win. To do that, you must have the mentality of the present. Yes that means: what have you done for me lately. It feels very Minnesota sport to be sitting here and saying they owe it to him to because of the last few years. They aren’t in the business of loyalty. At least they shouldn’t be. They should be in the business of trying to win a championship. If we can’t trust a bullpen arm, they can’t be in this bullpen. It’s go time. We have a gap in the central to close.
  18. The only pressure on a twins active roster is with those who have minor league options. I can’t event squint and see the twins releasing veterans like Vasquez.
  19. Yea glad to clubhouse fully trusts Rocco. I sure don’t. He seems unaware of who is currently hot and cold. Feels stuck on last year.
  20. I’d like the team to convince me of why I shouldn’t fear the guardians by winning a game against them. Journalists have been saying the guardians aren’t that good all year. That’s why they play the games. To prove it. glad the stats say they aren’t better than us. The eye test doesn’t yet.
  21. I would venture to say that position players struggling to hit will always open the conversation, competition and debate for the future of the position. The end goal is still to win a championship.
  22. First runner at second base all day?? Haha. Boring. Platoon advantage huh?
