  1. This year is much more enjoyable than the last three. At least we can see hope for the future. We may come as close to the amount of losses we have had but there is real progress. I do agree with Doc that keeping Suzuki and at least one of Willingham or Morales makes sense. Twins have the money and they are proven middle of the order hitters. Arcia, Pinto and ALL the rest of the prospects including Buxton and Sano need to force their way into the lineup. I do not agree that the Twins should clear the roster for them. The prospects should force their way on to the roster.
  2. They should send him to Triple A. They already have to find AB's for Parmalee. Fryer is reportedly a good defensive catcher. I feel that it is more likely that a back up catcher that is good defensively is more likely to help you consistently than a good hitting back up catcher because of the inconsistent AB's
  3. Thanks for all your work on these articles. Very enjoyable. Schwarber hit two out at TD Ameritrade park (the home of the college world series) during the big 10 tournament. Very difficult park to hit the ball out of. The second one was a blast. I have not seen any ball leave that park quicker. Not suprised to see him moving up. MLB had Monte Harrison at 10- very athlectic player - I think he will go before 24.
  4. Thanks for the article lot of research on your part. Appears that Brandon Peterson is off to a good start. The combination of his numbers and already getting moved up looks promising for a 13th rounder. What type of pitcher is he?
  5. Anyone know if Andres Torres ever recovered from his injury? He could be a stop gap in center that would not require the Twins to trade anyone. Just $$
  6. Aaron Hicks is 24 years old and came to the organization in 2008. He was already sent back to the minors last year and I do not see where he improved. I think the next move is on Hicks. He needs to figure this out and play better. I don't think it matters if you send him down or not.
  7. I think it would be interesting to have your show live during the draft at least through the first 7-8 picks.

Deduno is different. He is entertaining. Glad he took Pelfrey's spot
  9. Only a contender should consider trading or him. Looks like Masterson and Shields are heading for free agency. They may cost more money but no prospects. Pass
  10. How about Bernadina? He was designated for assignment. I was thinking that during trade talks when he was with the Nationals that the Twins had some interest in him.
  11. I do listen to the entire two hours. I have the MLB package so I turn a game on with no sound and listen to the hangout. You guys can ramble but I find most of it to be interesting. Thanks
  12. Don't forget Willingham as your are working this puzzle. I think you have to send Arcia to AAA. He can work on his defense and his approach at the plate. These things have a way of working themselves out. Someone will slump or get injured.
  13. Eric - nice write up- thanks Looks like it may get interesting with the major league starters struggling and a number of the pitching prospects looking like they are close to being ready. May - Meyer now Johnson
  14. I am happy you mentioned Bruno. With so many hitters taking better AB's it seems like there needs to be some credit to the coaching staff. The past few years when i was watching i would be thinking ahead to when Mauer was up. Now it is Colabello. Hopefully we can keep this up.
  15. Article of the year so far. What I have been hoping is that Colabello needed that failure last year to have success this year. It is not at all unusual for a player to struggle the first time he is in the majors. It just felt different because he was 29. I don't know how any baseball fan couldn't root for this guy.
  16. I am officially worried - Seth doesn't sound optimistic
  17. When I was little we use to vacation every year at Star lake way up north in Minnesota. We could listen to the Twins on an old scratchy radio. Harmon Killebrew was my favorite player. Tony Oliva, Bob Allison, Don Mincher, Jm Kaat, Mudcat Grant, Dean Chance, Zoilo Versailes. Got hooked then and can't seem to shake 'em. You are correct that the worst major league player is an outstnding baseball player. Thanks for the article
  18. It is hard to say yet. I think he has played well this spring and is our best option to start in centerfield. If the Twins can't hit but their pitching is improved they better play good defense. But until he shows improvement in the regular season games I don't think we can be sure.
  19. Went to yanks twins. First 3 yanks got hits . Twins pitchers then got 27 outs no more hits. Twins made 3 poor fielding plays in 1st inning. Santana did not catch Arcia throw, Romero dropped a cutoff throw and Pinto had a passed ball. Arcia struck out twice with man on third and one out. The good news- Collabello picked up Arcia both times with 2 out hits. Dozier hr was a no doubter - he hit it off Phelps so it wasn't a minor league pitcher. Santana can hit and run, can't field erratic arm . Hicks played well. Doubled left handed.
  20. One way Ramrez makes the team is if Willingham is traded. MLB reported that Seattle is still looking for right handed power but is out of money. Wonder what they would give.
  21. 94 this early in camp from Gibson sounds like he came ready to win a spot. Appreciate the recap and the picture. I was wondering what number Buxton would switch to. I heard 7 was taken.
  22. Do you have any information on Jack Barrie? All I know is a 18 year old first baseman that the Twins signed from Australia. Do the Twins have any interest in Diaz th free agent Cuban shortstop?
  23. I am thinking Willigham. Seatle was talking to and close to signing Nelso Cruz. The talks didn't progress as they may need their resources for pitching. We should offer Willingham and even put some money in for the right shortstop prospect.
  24. I agree with your most important prospect label. There are a growing number of pitching prospects in the minors but not many are that close to the majors. Santana and I think Liriano started in the bullpen when they were first called up moved into the rotation later in the year. It limits the innings and lets the rookie pitcher start out with lower leverage appearances. Have a little success, build some confidence then start. I wish they would consider that approach with Meyer. Last year by the time Gibson came up he was close to his innings limit. Could happen again if Meyer starts in AAA.
  25. Enjoyed the discussion on the under the radar prospects. I am heading to spring training March10-15th. Haven't been there for over 30 years. Was wondering if you could talk some about the daily routine. Are the morning workouts open to the public? When do they run the Good Morning America drills? Will the minor league games be started by then? Are they open to the public - just stuff like that- Thanks
