    Mad about an SI article? No. Disappointed in the direction they took? Maybe. Decent does not have to be fluff. I'm not 100% certain that anyone outside of "Twins Territory" has any idea what Mauer has done in his career, and this would be a good time to report that. What I'm left with is the same old sour taste of this 8 year old discussion Seems to me that the Press jumps on every chance to shout about the negatives under the guise of presenting both sides of the story. Sells more copy, I guess.

    SI has a chance to write a decent article on Mauer, and the possibility of this being his last year. Instead, they turned it into the same old tired tripe that has been hashed around here since the ink dried on his contract. Gleeman was right on.. some folks just enjoy being "mad".

    How many ABs does it take before one realizes "he is what he is"? 600? 900? 1000? 1075? Why is it he gets a pass at the expense of some others who play in the system? They might need MLB at bats to see if they would stick, too. He has talent. True. But as for now, it looks "un-realized."

Favorite non-Twins Daily site/authors? Not sure 7.) Favorite Twitter follows? Gave up on Twitter a year ago. Not interested in getting everything now, now, now… A slower pace is a nice change to the rat race. 8.) Other interests outside of baseball. Golf, beer (can that be just one word?), reading, grandkids, wood working. 9.) Favorite part of Twins Daily... forums, blogs, articles, topics... whatever you like. Digging through to find a new gem. Usually at lunchtime. I read a lot of the content, but rarely post. And that’s fine. 10.) Tell us what we can do better. What features or other topics would you like to see in-season or out of season? You folks figure it out. Haven’t disappointed me yet. 11.) Have you been to any of the Twins Daily "events?" Nope.

    Finally. Kid's 24. Not all players are going to develop at the same rate. He works hard, by my eyeball test. Several ST worth. And he was in FM training prior to reporting. Some of this is simply over the top conjecture.

    85 or 83. Decent team, good team or not... The debate was an over/under around 75 at the start of the season. No matter what the final outcome, this 'ride' is one hell of a lot better than what we have been watching for the past 6 years (not counting '15). It's great entertainment. Okay... It's .500 baseball, but it's great entertainment.

    Seems as though this would just be another "Park" type of move. More interested in the bolstering of pitching than a rental Power bat. Interesting thought though.

    When Gibson came up (pre-TJ) he actually attacked the strike zone. It was one of his first ST appearances and it was impressive. His entire demeanor was different. Now, I find myself screaming at the TV for him to get back to that. Attack. Use the guys behind you. But nope. Nibble, nibble and nibble, until you have to groove one. Seems so obvious. If he really does have a couple of options left, that is a good idea. Maybe he needs that harsh of a message. Might get his head back on straight.

It was nice to actually hear you talk about these things, even when that other guy was stomping all over your air time. Almost made Patrick sound like he was enjoying himself, too.     I’m thinking there is a side to all this that hasn’t been discussed. TR in the past, has tried to push down from the top (when he could) to create competition from top and bottom for the younger guys. The Quentin signing might have everything to do with that without much risk. With Quentin working to make the opening day roster, maybe that lights a little hotter fire under Arcia or Vargas to go north. Hard to say what the thinking is otherwise.
