  1. I'd say he's the most impressive call-up since Sano last year.
  2. Keith Law wrote that Chargois struggled, and he has an "ugly short-arm delivery." http://espn.go.com/blog/keith-law/insider/post?id=5333
  3. Eduardo Nunez has the same Fangraphs WAR as Edwin Encarnacion and Miguel Cabrera. He's an All Star because he's been really good.
  4. The good news is the other 3 teams in the AL Central have a combined 2 guys listed, Raul Mondesi and Carson Fulmer.
  5. J.P. Crawford must be an amazing fielding SS. He's hitting .265 with a .725 OPS in AA and AAA this year, with 10 stolen bases, which is worse than what he did there last year. He's still only 21, but that's a little underwhelming for the #3 ranked prospect. It's definitely a much weaker prospect class than in recent years.
  6. I think I've seen improvements in Buxton being more aggressive early, and even when he has fallen behind in the count, he's been laying off bad pitches more and at least putting the ball in play. Still too many popups and fly balls though.
  7. He's had a pretty good year coming back from Tommy John surgery, with a 2.35 ERA and 9.4 K/9 and a low BB rate. Looks like he should get an opportunity to pitch with the Twins in September.
  8. Ok yeah a .900 OPS might be on the high side, but with his eye at the plate and his improving power, a mid-.800 OPS with a few seasons above .900 seems possible.
  9. That would be great, but I'm going to go a little more optimistic and hope for a .300/.400/.500 line from Kepler.
  10. And Kepler has faced a left handed pitcher in 37.5% of his PA. Compare that to the 25% that Joe Mauer has faced this year.
  11. Just looking at Luis Arraez's stats, they're very encouraging, except for one. He's got 0 stolen bases on the year. What does this say about his speed and athleticism?
  12. Why would you consider adding Wimmers and dropping Tonkin? Tonkin has an 11.2 K/9 this year and he had a 2.65 ERA with a 9.7 K/9 in his time at AAA. Wimmers has a K/9 around 7 and an ERA around 4 in AAA.
  13. Wimmers has a 4.35 ERA with 7.3 K/9 this year between AA and AAA, and he's 27 years old. His draft position is basically the only reason he'd be added and called up this year.
  14. Great game today, Ervin... That's what I've heard anyways.
  15. Or that said complete game was only 6 innings.
  16. I know he tore his ACL a few years ago, and of course he was playing on a loaded GS team the last couple of years, but he's a 40% 3 point shooter for his career, so he should help in an area of need.
  17. Brandon Rush is the newest member of the team. 1 year at $3.5M. I think it's a really nice signing for wing depth and 3 point shooting.
  18. I think OKC should just keep Russell and go for the 4/5 seed, and then hope Westbrook goes for 45 ppg against GS in the second round of the playoffs. That would be fun to watch.
  19. According to today's minor league report article, Davis has been promoted to Cedar Rapids.
  20. Byung Ho Park went 0-4 with 3 K's. And against a starter with an ERA around 7.
  21. Those Joe Mauer stats just make me sad.
  22. This move takes away from the big picture interest in the NBA this year. I'm still a huge NBA fan, but it's now basically a sure bet Warriors-Cavs rematch. Of course, the thing I'm most interested in is the Wolves development and them fighting for a playoff spot.
  23. I wanted to see him and Westbrook take one more shot at GS, who they were up 3-1 on by the way. Then next offseason, Westbrook can go to the Lakers and Durant can go wherever he wants. I value great players wanting to be the reason their teams win championships, and not just be along for the ride, which is the position that an all time great in Durant has put himself in.
  24. I think it's such a cheap move by Durant, and I was a big fan of his before this. I don't understand these elite players wanting to go chase rings.
