  1. I like watching Chris Davis HRs on the highlights shows, but if I had to watch a full season of him as an Orioles fan, I think I'd get pretty frustrated with him. The worst part about these high strikeout guys is that you can't count on them with guys in scoring position, as evidenced by his .194 avg with RISP this year. 84 RBI on 38 HRs is a little disappointing. My worry with Sano (future 1B?) is that his strikeouts aren't going to allow him to be a great RBI guy.
  2. A losing record with 4 runs scored, and especially with 5 runs scored is pretty sad. The pitching can't get any worse than this.
  3. Vielma has shown less power in the minors than Ben Revere. I doubt he would be a non liability at the MLB level if he's just barely getting by with the bat in the minors.
  4. This was a come out of nowhere season for Nelson Molina, so I haven't really read much or paid much attention to him. Hopefully he can put together back to back seasons of production to show that this year wasn't a fluke.
  5. I'm going to call Jordan Balazovic the Canadian Kohl Stewart, at least until his K rate proves otherwise.
  6. I'd call Rosario's 2016 a slight disappointment. Apparently he's got the stuff, but 9.7 H/9 and only 6.5 K/9 in the FSL isn't anything to write home about. Maybe when he makes the transition to reliever full time, we'll see better results.
  7. On the positive side, besides the umpire's missed strike 3 call and subsequent walk to lead off the 5th inning, and then Molitor's decision to take him out, Berrios continued to looked much more in control yesterday. I think Paul was just waiting until the first opportunity he had to yank him.
  8. If that's the case, then Molitor is an even worse manager than I thought. I don't think any starter would be happy with 4.2 IP and 2 ER. I think the only reasonable explanation is Paul Molitor doesn't know what he's doing.
  9. It should be fun to see his stolen base totals over a full season. Maybe somewhere in the 50-60 range. Also interesting is that he's listed at 6'4" and 200 lbs, so he seems to be an excellent athlete with the size to potentially add power.
  10. Yeah, 15 HRs back in 2013, and just 16 in the three years since then. He's been disappointing as a supplemental first rounder, but I guess that's the risk with taking high schoolers. He never has come into the power that scouts thought he would.
  11. Every time the camera goes to Molitor, I can't help but get really annoyed. It's like he's just trying to troll whatever fans remain left watching.
  12. What a joke. Not that I should be surprised with Molitor's track record.
  13. So Logan Schafer is batting 5th tonight. It's pretty impressive how each day brings something new to represent just how awful this season has been.
  14. Great thread. Buxton does seem like a really modest, hard-working guy. That, along with his elite athleticism, is a great combination.
  15. I really want Kyle Gibson to just go away because he is infuriating to watch pitch, but I'd be shocked if he's not in the rotation next year. And unfortunately Berrios has played himself into not being a lock next year, especially if/when a free agent or a trade brings in another pitcher.
  16. Maybe that's why you don't trade a cheap 40 HR second basemen for one of these high risk/reward guys. Maybe target someone who hasn't had control problems in the minors.
  17. Both are really tall pitchers who have trouble repeating their mechanics, leading to high walk totals. Glasnow has a higher minor league walk rate than Meyer. And Glasnow has 15 MLB innings, so that means little more than nothing.
  18. I think the centerpiece has to be a pitcher, so Rosario wouldn't be ideal. And the control issues for Reyes and Glasnow are big concerns. That would be an extremely high risk/high reward trade.
  19. Getting Tyler Glasnow would worry me. I can't help but see the similarities between him and Alex Meyer.
  20. Dozier for Vincent Velasquez and Jorge Alfaro? I don't know if the Phillies would be willing to give that much up.
  21. The King of Queens is probably my favorite show of all time. I still watch reruns pretty often. And I thought the first episode of Kevin Can Wait was pretty good. The Good Place was really funny too. I think I'll continue watching that one for a while.
  22. A good starting pitcher would be nice, but retaining a 40 HR second basemen isn't that bad of an outcome either.
  23. Well it was the 3rd fastest right handed hitter triple of the season, so pretty fast.
  24. Yeah, he should definitely start at AA next year. Gordon actually went from 25 SBs in Cedar Rapids to just 19 this year, and the success rate went from 76% to 59%. Not good at all. I don't think steals are going to be a big part of his game.
