  1. Daniel Palka has to be considered a lock for the 40 man.
  2. Curtiss, Gordon, and English are all below AA though.
  3. I'm so glad they didn't call up Palka/Walker and have them waste away on the bench. /s
  4. Only the Twins would send two 25 year old guys to the AFL. Now, Melotakis is a fine choice, but it's just like them to send a couple old guys over there.
  5. Adam Walker or Daniel Palka should also be promoted after the AAA season.
  6. I'd like to see Zach Granite continue his breakout season by getting a spot in the AFL.
  7. The Broncos just won the Super Bowl with awful quarterback play. I don't think the Vikings defense can be as good as the Broncos were, but no hope at all is a little harsh. I'm going to try to stay optimistic.
  8. It's not like the Vikings were slinging the ball around last year either. Teddy's injury is really sad and I'm a huge fan of his, but there's still hope for this season I think.
  9. Sad day for Minnesota sports fans. The Teddy news just makes me sick.
  10. And Logan Schafer is starting in CF again. At least he'll already be close to the 7 or 8 AB's that Seth predicted he'd get over the next week or so...
  11. Mujica had a 3.69 ERA with 6.2 K/9 in 39 innings for Lehigh Valley. I guess that's all it takes to be an all star.
  12. Also from Fangraphs today: Jack C. :Travis Blankenhorn now slashing .308/.356/.538 between Rookie and A-ball. 12 2B, 3 3B, 10 HR in 53 games. He is obviously a few years away from having the chance to make a Major League roster, but should the Twins view him as a third baseman of the future? Or are you not so high on him? Eric Longenhagen: Don't think I'd label him "3B of the Future" already but he's a prospect worth following. PA kid with good hand-eye and bat control, fringe athlete, body has held serve so far.
  13. This isn't necessarily a Twins question, but it is a former Twin and really interesting: Tom Penney: Anyone under the radar right now that could help a team when rosters expand? Eric Longenhagen: "Under the radar" for me is anyone that, say, beat writers aren't talking about. The Dodgers have had Jordan Schafer relieving and pinch running in the AZL and attempting steals every time he can. That might be a thing. They'd have to clear 40 man space, though.
  14. I'd probably have Arenado 2nd or 3rd, along with Daniel Murphy. Arenado and Bryant have pretty similar numbers, and the Coors effect gives Bryant the advantage I think.
  15. It's like Molitor and the Twins are just doing things to troll us at this point.
  16. Logan Schafer is starting in CF tonight. Yay!!! /s
  17. Or Palka/Walker could have played every day with the Twins instead of the awful fielding Robbie Grossman. This should not have been an obvious or easy decision. Logan Schafer is bad at baseball, and giving him time in the majors over players who might have a future with the team makes little to no sense.
  18. Plus, the Twins hitters don't have the luxury of fattening up their numbers by facing the Twins pitching staff.
  19. Zach Granite is going to be added to the 40 man this offseason too. It would have been great to see him get rewarded for his excellent season by getting a month in the majors. Arguing for this is maybe more of a reach.... but really? Logan Schafer?
  20. Rosario and Grossman would be possibilities, but Kepler wouldn't? I don't get that. I'd feel pretty comfortable if Ervin Santana were the starter for game 2 of a series as well.
  21. Why is he still on the 40 man then? I'm not a big Walker supporter, but I'd much rather see him get an opportunity than watch a guy who has proven to not be an MLB player.
  22. Robbie Grossman should be considered a DH at this point. His routes are obviously awful, and his arm is not much better.
