  1. You really snubbed Nick Burdi. A 9.00 ERA in 3 innings isn't good enough to make this list?
  2. Hildenberger's control has been really impressive to me (from his stats). We've seen with Chargois and Light how not throwing it over the plate can really cause problems.
  3. I guess I'd hope for internal improvement from Berrios and Gibson. Maybe sign a #4/5 guy in free agency, and/or make a more minor trade. What are we expecting for a return for Dozier? An MLB guy (Chris Archer, Steven Matz) or a top minor leaguer (one of Glasnow/Taillon, Jose de Leon, Giolito)? Just throwing a few names out for fun.
  4. The 14th best team ERA, Oakland, is .59 worse than 3rd best Houston's 4.01 ERA. The Twins are .60 worse than Oakland... I could've probably just said the Twins pitching is hot garbage and made the same point without wasting 2 minutes looking that up.
  5. Have you ever played rFactor? I've only read about it and watched videos on it, and it looks really cool. I've seen a bunch of mods for dirt modifieds, late models, and sprint cars,
  6. And there's basically no way I'd trade Brian Dozier this offseason. I can't envision the return I would want matching what teams would be willing to give up.
  7. After yesterday's 3 HR game, the national media is starting to recognize Brian Dozier's great season. I remember several times seeing "Brian Dozier's hot 2nd half continues, with 3 HR game" (or something like that) scroll across in "The Lead" while watching the FSU/Ole Miss game.
  8. I think we've seen the difference between moving up a minor league level and making the jump from minors to majors in the past few years. That being said, I would've liked to have seen Walker with the Twins this September just for the fun of it, but his K numbers just don't look like they'll translate long term.
  9. A really great Q&A article with Max Kepler. https://sports.vice.com/en_us/article/vice-sports-qa-rookie-twins-outfielder-max-kepler-talks-ballet-berlin-and-baseball
  10. Yeah, I haven't been a real big believer in Vargas' bat being good enough to be an everyday DH, but the improved discipline and power that he showed in his short stint this year was encouraging at least.
  11. Kennys Vargas: .152 over his last 10 games, 0 RBI. He's now hitting .229, with a .776 OPS for Rochester. Not too good.
  12. Classic Kohl Stewart: 6 innings, 1 K. He's down to 4.6 K/9 (and 4.3 BB/9) in Chattanooga. But he still gets people out. I'm really confused by him. I think he should start going by Cole Stewart.
  13. I'm really interested in seeing where Gonsalves slots in on top 100 lists this offseason. His numbers indicate he should be a top 50 guy, but the people who make those lists don't seem to agree so far. I'd also switch Romero and Anderson for #2 because of the strikeouts.
  14. I for sure want to see the young guys play well, and if that results in wins, that's fine I guess. Even if the Twins play well, they're going to have a hard time getting past the 2nd worst record anyway.
  15. I'll be really surprised if they don't win 7 games. I think 8 is really likely.
  16. With the Leiner draft stock being a topic, I have to include another player who the NFL seemed to like, but their own college fans thought was terrible: Christian Hackenberg. Here is his line from last night's preseason game for the Jets: 11-31, 54 yards, 1 interception. 31 attempts, 54 yards...
  17. Mitch Leidner wasn't awful, but he wasn't very good either. Rodney Smith and Taiyon Devers had great games and are basically the reason for the win. A win is a win.
  18. The Orioles have 15 stolen bases on the year... Yes, that's their team total. I guess it makes sense with their roster, but still, that number is shockingly low.
  19. His splitter was really impressive the other night. Where's the 100 mph that we've read about though? Fangraphs has his average fastball velocity for the year at 95.6, but that seems high to me. From what I've watched, he's around 93-95, with the occasional 96-97.
  20. Isn't that from 2015? Because if it's from this year, Jonathan Lucroy at 14 is way off.
  21. <Insert broken clock photo here>
  22. A complete game shutout by Ricky Nolasco.
  23. He's only thrown 140 innings. He needs to learn how to pitch to MLB hitters, and there's no better time to do that than now.
  24. If Berrios doesn't get the call, and the rotation includes Dean and Albers for the last month... I can't even...
  25. Looks like Nick Gordon will be double-play partners with Yoan Moncada. That should be a fun team to watch. Austin Meadows is on the team too.
