  1. Torii keeps the nipple motif going in the post-game interview. Pretty funny.
  2. Maybe Joe needs to refashion himself as a power hitter. Almost had a HR yesterday as well.
  3. Wow, two extra bases for Buxton from what most players get. I know it's just the White Sox, but coming out party tonight, the speed, the arm.
  4. MLB has Kendrick and Wade signed at slot value. Jeremy, I'd love to see the Twins get Eastman, or Wilson.
  5. Hey, the dude worked 2 walks today. 2! How long would it take Oswaldo to do that?
  6. ^^^ Sale, Rodon, Fulmer: that's a pretty solid core there. I don't subscribe to ESPN, but is Olney an arrogant ass?
  7. Why on earth would the Sox trade him? I can't read the whole article, but the premise is nonsense.
  8. Pelfrey has tended to alternate between good season / bad season over his career. This is the good season of that cycle. If the Twins want to continue to flirt with playoff baseball, keeping him makes sense.
  9. I would be happy to pull his name off my "first round bust" list. Those are some fine numbers.
  10. For sure - I'm all for keeping Hicks around.
  11. Robinson surely made him expendible. Now it's Shane's turn to start looking over his shoulder. Hicks would make a nice 4th outfielder.
  12. Sorry if this has been discussed already, but are pitchers approaching Mauer differently than in the past, or are his troubles the result of past injuries? I know he strikes out a lot more and walks a lot less, which makes me wonder if the book on Mauer has changed.
  13. He sure is a top prospect now I would think.
  14. According to MLB, Blankenhorn signed for 104,000 under slot, Robinson for 5,000, and Miller for 28,000. Cabbage however got 243,000 over slot. They don't have all the numbers for the rest of the top 10, but the others they do have are at slot value. Probably not gonna have the dough to coax some of those later HS kids to sign.
  15. I'm reading this right now - his is certainly an interesting story, and considering he accomplished what he did while playing through injuries is remarkable. Pretty similar career to Puckett really, minus the championships. Given his role as good-will ambassador for the game of baseball on top of his career, I'd love to see him enshrined eventually.
  16. That's what I thought. Thx
  17. Thanks Jeremy - still lots of good prospects I hope to grab yet. Kyle Wilson was mentioned as a good probabiity to sign, and is going to a CC. Could he be a draft and follow candidate?
  18. Yeah, George Ruth. Guy didn't train, pitched like a mofo, then set a record for HRs and changed the game. Imagine what his legacy would have been provided he took care of himself, let alone trained like a modern athlete? The fact he pitched A1 stuff for 5 years before becoming the Bambino, winning over 20 games twice as well as an ERA crown of 1.75, over 300 innings twice plus a league leading 45 complete games one season, well, all that before changing the game as a power hitter, WHAT?! He was the kid in sandlot ball that was just the best at everything, except he did it at the highest level.
  19. Buxton's influence is everywhere - triples abound
  20. yeah. Fullerton is a good program. Really want Wilson.
  21. This is the shot in the arm this team needed right now. Give us some top-rated rookie to feast on!
  22. Normally I'm a "lock down 1-10" guy and am happy if they do so - I dont't remember a draft where the Twins took so many "signability" picks in the later rounds as this one. I guess we still need to sign the 1-10 guys to keep the pool money, but I can see why they made the picks they made at 6,7, 9, and 10 now. Any slot savings on guys like Moran, Wade, and Miller can perhaps help lure in Wilson, Eastman, Murray, etc. I just hope the Twins scouts developed good relationships with some of these kids that will help us get them inked.
  23. Seeing Justin go down again re-emphasizes Mickey's point. He certainly has lost something since.
  24. If the Twins manage to sign one or two of these later round higher end guys, I will be quite happy. One only wonders why they didn't draft some of them earlier....
