  1. 'The Texas A&M Aggies picked up a big-time commitment on Monday with the pledge of Scottsdale (Ariz.) Desert Mountain quarterback Kyle Allen. A consensus four-star prospect ranked as the No. 4 pro-style passer in the nation by the 247Sports composite rankings, Allen is considered the top player in Arizona,Now Allen is the 12th commitment for the Aggies in the class of 2014 -- part of a group that now ranks among the absolute best in the nation -- and the second in less than 24 hours after a three-month spell between pledges. Allen helps secure the future of the quarterback position at the time when the Aggies are in serious danger of losing 2013 signee Kohl Stewart to the MLB Draft.' http://www.sbnation.com/college-football-recruiting/2013/6/3/4392454/kyle-allen-commits-texas-a-m-aggies-football-recruiting-2014
  2. and yet, you still took time to complain about it anyway...
  3. Probably expected some sort of miracle with Moses...
  4. If you don't mind listening to the same thing day in and day out.
  5. Those are a couple assumptions I'm not willing to take.
  6. He gave up one hit after the first inning...in the 4th...and, again, had a 8-0 lead. If there was ever a time where an exta inning could be had from a starter...that was it.
  7. You mean like when he pulled Diamond after 6 innings when he was cruising and had a lead of 8-0. Don't think he could have gotten an extra inning there? Oh, also, Twins starters are 28th in innings pitched per start.
  8. Yeah, this post isn't condescending at all...
  9. He's not better than many thought he was. He's doing what he's done the last couple years...have a good April, then take a carp. So far, he's had a good April, a horrible May, starting June off very poorly as well. And, BTW, he came into the season as the #2 pitcher. How many of our pitchers are going to get the excuse, he's doing what a number 4 or number 5 pitcher does?
  10. I think we are lucky enough to be in the situation where BPA will very likely be an area of need...pitching and 3B/1B.
  11. Oh, so it's not a rumor...cool, cause I heard the same thing...
  12. anybody see the play by Brendan Ryan yesterday...he went far to his left, the ball took a weird bounce, while in stride he fielded it between his legs, spun and fired to first. Bad throw. Guy at first was safe, didn't advance, and he was charged an error. Horsecarp! Edit: Either MLB network sportscaster got it wrong and he wasn't charged an error, or he was initially charged an error and MLB fixed that mistake real quick-like.
  13. he's played WAY more 3B than OF
  14. How many times has Morny grounded to second and how many is too many? I ask for a couple reasons, because I don't know and because he has a .333 BA when hitting ground balls.
  15. What he wants is for you to agree with Ryan's every move, non-move and decision...
  16. okay...yeah, Diamond gave up 4 ER in less than 5 IP...and yeah, he gave up 8 hits overall...but how did he do in the only stat that really matters? How many walks did he have?
  17. I agree that happens sometimes...I think, with a lot of fans from all fan bases, they don't watch enough of other teams to be able to get a good comparison of players.
  18. Like I said, I've been pleasantly surprised by him. Me saying definitively that he isn't the best defensive shortstop was no slight on him. There can only be on person who is the best at each spot. It's not like I was saying he was bad.
  19. It was you who said he was arguably the best defensive shortstop in the majors this year and now in this post you say he isn't. So why are you so bothered I was definitive in my statement that he isn't? He's 8th in RZR (actual range), he's 20th in plays made OOZ, he's 5th in UZR and he's 11th in defensive runs saved. And, not only that, you watch some of the other guys play the position, like Tulo, Simmons and Andrus, yeah I think it's a stretch to suggest he's the best defensive SS in baseball. I know it's the in thing to say that everything is opinion, but not everything is opinion. I don't see any argument that can be made for Florimon to be considered the best defensive shortstop. You haven't made one that's convincing. In my opinion, an argument could be made for Tulo and Simmons along with Andrus. If I'm just going off what I've seen this year, it's Simmons and Tulo neck and neck. As long as Brendan Ryan is healthy, he may very well he there in the discusssion at the end of the year too.
  20. Laudner just got done saying, and I quote, 'when you try to strike people out that's what happens you're gonna start walking people.'
  21. No one has suggested building a team through free agency...things always go to the extremes around here. Some suggest FA bargain basement shopping all the time doesn't do much to help the team, especially when there's significant payroll flexibility. Others say spending market value and market years on actual quality players should be avoided cause they might end up being bad contract later on...instead it's best if the team just banks the money instead of taking a chance on making the team better by spending cause it might end up being a bad contract.
  22. Correia is staying true to form so far...very good April, then it all starts going downhill. Not sure we're anywhere near close enough to make a call on how he is turning out.
  23. He's been a pleasant surprise for sure, in all aspects of his game, after a shaky start...but he's not the best defensive SS in the majors...no way.
  24. Ah, yes, CMSgts known for being simple-minded...
