  1. Just flag it...I did.
  2. Delmon had a very good 2010...
  3. I remember the year Pedroia was drafted. I followed the Pac-10 quite closely at that time and still do to a lesser degree. I had seen him play quite a bit and I was so wanting the Twins to draft him all six times they passed on him. I couldn't believe we didn't get him with all those opportunities. I was so ticked off. Our first pick that year, Trevor Plouffe.
  4. I imagine Mauer fits that bill...and Morny.
  5. In fairness, it wasn't here that I said that...well, until now :-)
  6. In any event, there's more to a player's salary than just on field production...
  7. It's ironic Gardy would mention egos...
  8. Baseball reference also has 14M
  9. My comment wasn't a shot...just wanted to know
  10. Morny is making 14M not 15M, and I believe salary isn't just about what's done on the field. There are other considerations. Other than that, yeah...
  11. How many PAs?
  12. You know, what I used to say (and got slammed for) is that the Twins prefer pitchers like we have cause they are cheaper...and as an added bonus, having those type of pitchers require defense-first type players...which are also cheaper.
  13. Except it's Doumit in RF...not Parmelee or even the newest guy in town Colabello
  14. Braun was historically bad on defense his rookie year (and he was horrible on defense in the minors too)...got moved from 3B after one season. He's a heck of a player.
  15. yeah, it's only been how many months since that happened...but as long as it makes someone feel good, that's what counts...it's not like thrylos didn't get enough abuse for this a long time ago...
  16. you say you weren't using RBI to rate him...but you only used two stats....one was RBI. Look, I'm not going to slam Morny, at all...if you notice I defended him in my post as well by pointing out how he does w/RISP....but using RBI, as a stand alone stat (which is how you originally used it), doesn't work...at least not for me. It's like people talking about wins for pitchers. You have since elaborated well, though.
  17. depends on what you think proof is. Eye test shows it, at least to some. You're discounting defensive efficiency which shows it. They're in the negative for defensive runs saved. They're 26th in plays made outside of zone. They're 26th in UZR. I guess I don't know what kind of proof you want....or what you have to show they aren't lousy, since you say they aren't. You say they aren't as if it's fact. What's the basis for that?
  18. and that's fine, but that doesn't mean their defense isn't lousy...not does it means the Twins defense isn't lousy as well...cause it is.
  19. On one hand, I don't want to 'like' this post cause Morny has been my favorite player on the Twins since he joined the Twins, on the other hand, anyone using RBI to rate a player needs to be shown the error of his ways. So a like goes to you. In Morny's defense, he's hitting .347 with RISP so while he is getting a lot of Ops (Ops that Willingham should be picking up), he's at least coming through when he gets the chance.
  20. okay, what about Correia? Look at his May ERA. As far as Pelfrey goes, he's basically had three good starts and a bunch of carp.
  21. Except that the Tigers are 1st in Ks and last in defensive efficiency. It's about the amount of balls put into play converted to outs. The AB that results in Ks are taken out (hence the -SO). It's also not just about more hits given up, since Detroit's BAA is 10th and yet, again, last in defensive efficiency.
  22. Twins rank 28th in defensive efficiency according to Baseball Prospectus. When adjusted for park, we're dead last. Baseball Prospectus | Statistics | Custom Statistics Reports: Team Pitching
  23. I love it when people step up and put themselves out there. Nice.
  24. which likely affected the mocks. let's see how the mocks end up right before the draft
  25. edited by me...instead of leaving up what I really wanted to say, I chose another course of action instead.
